Started Scrapbooking again tonight!

So during the last few months of pregnancy, I kept telling myself to scrapbook, scrapbook, scrapbook...but I just couldn't get myself to concentrate enough and enjoy it enough!  So I didn't do it!

But I think the bug is back and I am LOVING IT!!!

Here are some pages I did tonight!  (Got a little anxious ...wasn't expecting to get so many done!) :) yay

I didn't take very many belly shots when I was pregnant with Kamryn.  But with Kyler...
I took PLENTY!!

Labor Part 1

I'm in labor and guess what I'm doing--I'm blogging!! Don't you LOVE technology and this day in age! :) I sure do! :)

We got up at 5:30 this morning, got things ready and headed off to the hospital. (Kamryn stayed the night at Grammy's house so we didn't have to worry about her!) :)

We arrived at the hospital and started getting everything going pretty quick.  But first we had to take some last belly shots:

Got to the hospital by about 6:30. Met my nurse, Andra, and she is AWESOME! :)  She set me up with an IV.  I just about passed out because she ended up poking a blood valve first...so she had to do it again.  I got really light headed and had to lay down, but the second poke wasn't nearly as bad.  Ryan was holding my hand and talking to me through it so I would be distracted!  Thank goodness! :)

Soon after the anesthesiologist came in and gave me the epidural.  It really wasn't too bad.  I was a little nervous about it this time because I couldn't remember what it felt like from last time.  (I was having bad enough contractions last time to cover up the epidural process!) :)  But turns out I had nothing to worry about!    It was hard to relax because I was cold and shivering...but everything went well and within a half hour I was numb.  It's WONDERFUL!  I was so relaxed (still am) and just wanted to fall asleep. (however, anxiety has kept me awake again..just like last time! :) lol)

I got light headed from my blood pressure dropping after the epidural.  so...the oxygen mask came out again (like last time as well)!  SO flattering!!

And now Ryan and I are just waiting.  This is the EASIEST thing!  :) I am loving it! :)

The nurse just checked me (at 10:30ish) and I am dilated to a 6 now.  I'm cruising right along and will probably have a baby by lunch time! :) yipee!!

I keep looking at the empty bassinet...can't believe he's going to be here so soon! :)

Can't help but smile!! :)

Keep you all posted!  Thanks for your love and support and prayers!

Happy!

So these aren't the most flattering pictures...but I thought I'd post them anyway!

Ryan had a meeting with some people from and who donate to BYU Hawaii last week.  They greeted everyone at the doors with leis and then the meeting was decked out in Hawaiian stuff.  Ryan brought home the lei for me!  I loved it!  Amazing what some little flowers can do to brighten your mood!  It's just so pretty!

I also thought I'd post these pictures just to add to all the belly shots.  These are going to be some of the last few--these were taken at 38 weeks.  SOOOOO ready to be done with a big belly! :)

And the verdict is...

Saw the Doctor this morning and I'm progressed enough that he gave me the choice of whether or not to be started this week.  Ryan and I have been talking and thinking about it and think it would be good for our family for me to be induced.

So--the verdict is to start me Wednesday morning at 6:30 in Orem! :) yay!

It feels a little surreal to think that I'll have another baby in just 48 hours (probably) :)  Very excited and I think having it "planned" like  this will make it easier to determine what to do with Kamryn during it all! She'll probably be more "at ease" about it as well---instead of being thrown around every which way and unsure of what is going on! :)

So...we'll keep you informed.  As far as the next couple of days, I'm going to try really hard to update my blog and get things organized and ready.  (And get myself ready mentally ... I'm gonna have 2 kids!) :)

39 weeks!

Doctor appointment for 39 week checkup is tomorrow morning!

I'll be back after to post about what's going on.  As far as any progress this week ... no contractions, no movement, no nothing! BLAH!
However, my parents were out of town for the week and now they are home again and I started having some contractions and tightening tonight...so hopefully the Dr. will be able to see progress tomorrow at the appointment! :)

I'll keep you posted! :) Love ya!

no baby yet

Don't have  tons of time to post right now...

but after a very frustrating weekend, we still have no baby and Dr. says he would give me at least another week.  However, with my track record (Kamryn) he could come this week...no way to know!  But this last weekend was just a lot of false labor...frustrating but it is what it is.

(I think I'm frustrated mostly because with Kamryn I never experienced a bunch of false labor.  In fact, really not any!  She just came!)  :)

Anyway, just thought I'd update everyone...I'm going to spend the week trying not to think about it too much.  He'll come when he comes and that is good for me.  Heavenly Father is in charge and will help my body do what it needs to do in the time it needs to happen!

Thanks for your support and love! I feel it. :)

38th week of pregnancy (March 30-April 6)

Belly photos
My mom threw me a "mini-shower" for me.  Some of my aunts and cousins and my Grandma and sisters and moms went out to eat at Red Lobster. It was very yummy and very fun!  I got a little spoiled--I love all the gifts!  (Thank you, thank you, thank you!) :)

Then last night I started feeling contractions around 5:30.  I walked up and down our hallway a few times to help them stay.  Then we decided to go to Maceys (grocery store just down the street) and walk around there.  (wear me out AND wear Kamryn out before bedtime!) :)  At about 7:30 we decided to go up to my parents to put Kamryn down there for bed, just in case we had to go to the hospital.  While we were there, we decided to play cards. (Fools Bridge--Grandma's favorite game!)  I stood up and walked around a lot of the time to keep contractions going.

After a few hours, contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was having to breathe heavy.  So, around midnight we went down to the hospital.  The nurse walked into our room after I changed and I recognized her!  She was the same nurse that helped me when I was in labor with Kamryn almost 2 years ago!!  How funny is that?!! :)

She hooked me up to a couple of monitors and checked me.  I was dilated 3 cm and 70% effaced.  They can't actually admit me to the hospital unless I'm at least 4 cm, so they let me sit and contract for an hour and came back to check.  No progress.  So...she let me sit another hour--I was soooo tired and I was dying!  Contractions were really strong... yet an hour later when the nurse checked, I still was in the same place!  I was SO frustrated!!  Ana (the nurse) said our only option really was for me to get a shot of morphine to help me relax and sleep, but it won't stop contractions if this is real labor.  I agreed to get the shot and I went home and crashed!  4:00am till about 9:30am I was out like a light.  Then throughout conference sessions today, I couldn't really stay awake!  The drugs were still affecting me.  I couldn't think straight...I was dizzy...could barely walk!  Finally at about 7:00 tonight I was feeling better---and now it is 8:00 and I'm finally starting to feel contractions again!  Hopefully I'll be able to go back and be admitted to the hospital tonight!  Cross your fingers and say a little prayer!  We'll keep you updated---facebook, texting and hopefully blogging.  We'll see! :)

37 weeks=Full Term

I went to the Doctor yesterday and because it was my 37 week appointment, I requested that he do a pelvic exam. I needed to know if the contractions I've been feeling the past week were really doing something yet or not. (ease my mind either way!) :) Well, he checked, and said I'm already dilated a little over 1 cm and am effacing as well! Yay!! So, I'll go in next week for my 38 week appointment, and then he said that if I WANTED to I can set up a time on the 13th, 14th, or 15th to be started---if the baby hasn't just come by then anyway.

I'm thrilled! :) I'm not afraid of inducing because I'm all for an epidural and pain killers! AND inducing when you are ready (just need a jump start) is a whole different thing than inducing when you haven't even started dilating or effacing yet. (although...Kamryn came earlier on her own...I'm kinda expecting I won't even have the chance to choose to be induced or not) :)

SO--I was looking back at what happened at this time with Kamryn. And according to my journal entries:
37 weeks-I was 1.5 cm dilated and he was talking about inducing a week early if she hadn't come by then. (sound familiar?!!) :)
38 weeks-I was 4 cm --Kamryn was posterior however so labor hadn't actually begun yet. Dr. Judd tried to turn her, but was unsuccessful. However, it helped to start contractions and I had her 2 days later.

Interesting how this little guy is kinda in the same predicament! However, as far as I know, he is facing the correct way so he could potentially start my body into labor even earlier! :) Hmm...baby this weekend.... ??? :) We'll see! :)

I am thinking...

So, with only 28 days of pregnancy left (let's face it...today is just about over already!) :) I have a lot on my mind.  I keep thinking I need to write everything down (journal it) for after the baby is born and for when I'm ready to have another one.  That way I have lots to read to remind me of what I'm feeling like as I'm entering the 9th month of pregnancy!  So...here goes!

I'm thinking:
  • I'm thinking my back hurts.
  • I'm thinking about how I was so so so anxious when my countdown told me I still had 100 days left!  That day I was going to make a countdown chain to help pass time by....hmm...I'm at 28 days now and still haven't even started making one!! :) lol  Talk about procrastination!  How long does it take YOU to do something you've wanted to do for a while!?!  We'll see if I even  get around to it now! :)
  • I'm thinking my tummy is large--however, I don't have an outie belly button.  It's just flat this time!
  • I'm thinking about how the doctor says this baby is larger than Kamryn was.  I hope not too much larger!
  • I'm thinking that there has got to be some way to help my body be ready for labor sooner than later.
  • I'm thinking I'm thirsty. I've drinken 6 bottles of water today already.
  • I'm thinking I'm sick of going to the bathroom.
  • I'm thinking I want to live on tylenol because of these sore muscles.
  • I'm thinking I wish I didn't have to move for the next month! :)
  • I'm thinking heartburn is AWFUL!
  • I'm thinking food doesn't taste very good anymore. I need an appetite again!
  • I'm thinking I have to go to the bathroom again.
  • I'm thinking I don't have clothes that fit anymore...again!  But what's the point of buying something I'll only use for a month or so?!!  I just can't bring  myself  to do it!
  • I'm thinking I want to go shopping ... but just don't have the drive to do it and I KNOW my energy won't last!
  • I'm thinking about how fun it is going to be to have a newborn again--to cuddle and cuddle and cuddle!
  • I'm thinking how wonderful it will be to exercise  and get in shape again.  I've never loved exercising...in fact...I really hate it!  But I'm feeling so motivated to get toned and skinny again!  I want to swim, I want  to play the Wii Fit, I want  to stretch and tone my tummy!
  • I'm thinking heartburn is AWFUL!!
  • I'm thinking about how Kamryn is going to react to the baby.  She held a baby for the first time last week (3 month old baby) and LOVED it!  It just brought warmth to my heart watching her be so excited and proud of herself with the baby---I'm so excited to see what she'll want to do with him everyday!
  • I'm thinking about how Ryan and I are going to be parents of 2...and that it makes me feel "grown up".  I mean, we see plenty of young (student) couples who have A kid...but not TWO!  We're entering the world of a "family" rather than a couple with a kid.  Don't get me wrong...I'm excited...but uncertain at the same time if I really am "grown up" enough! :)
  • I'm thinking I have to go to the bathroom again!
  • I'm thinking about the summertime---can't wait to go swimming!  Can't wait to be out in the sun! Can't wait to go on a vacation!  Don't care where---just somewhere  WARM! :)
  • (however, I'm not sure WHEN exactly we'll be able to get away!)
  • I'm thinking about my Dr. Appointment I had today---wishing I knew if I have started progressing or not yet.  I won't know anything for another 2 weeks though.
  • I'm thinking I need  another bottle of water to drink!
  • I'm thinking about how 4 weeks really isn't THAT far away...but at the same time feels like FOREVER!
  • I'm thinking that it  catches me off guard when I think that I could really have another baby in just 18 days (if he is as early as Kamryn!)
  • I'm thinking about all my family and friends that I have around.  I was looking  at pictures of when we had Kamryn and all the help and support we had.  I am looking forward to all the love and support we will feel with this baby too!
  • I'm thinking I'm excited for my hospital stay! In fact, I'm excited for labor and delivery!  My doctor told me today that with each pregnancy, the pregnancy gets harder and harder! BUT the delivery gets easier and easier!  Well...I thought my first delivery was pretty darn easy so if that holds true, I have NOTHING to worry about this time! :)  (All I can say though, is thank heaven for epidurals!) :)
  • I'm thinking about my wonderful husband and his wonderful and flexible job.  It is going  to be easy for him to come and go as he needs when this baby comes.
  • I'm thinking that this baby has no more room to grow...he's between my legs and up in my ribs already!  What is going to happen in 4 more weeks?!! :)
  • I'm thinking about what we are going to name him... Kasen, Kyler, Kobe... not even meaning to do the "K" thing...but those all sound best with "ryan" as the middle name! :)
  • I'm thinking about how this pregnancy has been tougher in some ways, but easier in others.
  • Tougher: energy levels(Kamryn), pain in Braxton contractions, more pain in tummy muscles
  • Easier: relationship with Ryan, being paranoid about things, sleeping
  • I'm thinking I don't feel as anxious as I expected to be at this point...but I would be very pleased if the baby came earlier than later! :) But I don't feel like I need to PUSH it as much this time.
  •  I'm thinking I need to pack for the hospital---which also includes going to get a couple things for breastfeeding and postpartum!
I'm thinking it's just about time for this baby to come! What do you think?!! :)

(Thanks for reading...this is more for my journal and memory than anything!) :)

New Hair

Last Friday I had a really rough morning... Kamryn had been sick all week, nothing to really blog about (lol), my hair was driving me crazy, and pregnancy was just getting the best of me! Ryan was really supportive and tried to help me feel better, but I decided that I needed to go do something with this mess!! :

After 4 hours at a hair school (cheaper that way and they could get me in THAT AFTERNOON), here's the end result!

I love the color (although it took FOREVER!!) but she cut my bangs too short...I'm not so sure about them. Plus, after cutting them too short, I think I scared her away a little bit and she didn't check to see that they weren't cut crooked! Oops!! I could've done that MYSELF! :) lol It's okay...I think I'm going to go down tomorrow to my friend's house and have her fix them up. You can't really tell it's crooked when they are curled and done.

Anyway, this "new do" is just what I needed to get me through the last few weeks of pregnancy! (Isn't it amazing what a little pampering does for your spirits?!!) :)
