What to do with a baby!

Take the baby for a walk
Take the baby out of the stroller
Give the baby a hug
Put the baby in the carseat
Feed the baby
Tuck in baby and give kisses
I think she's ready for a baby...what do you think?! :)

37 weeks=Full Term

I went to the Doctor yesterday and because it was my 37 week appointment, I requested that he do a pelvic exam. I needed to know if the contractions I've been feeling the past week were really doing something yet or not. (ease my mind either way!) :) Well, he checked, and said I'm already dilated a little over 1 cm and am effacing as well! Yay!! So, I'll go in next week for my 38 week appointment, and then he said that if I WANTED to I can set up a time on the 13th, 14th, or 15th to be started---if the baby hasn't just come by then anyway.

I'm thrilled! :) I'm not afraid of inducing because I'm all for an epidural and pain killers! AND inducing when you are ready (just need a jump start) is a whole different thing than inducing when you haven't even started dilating or effacing yet. (although...Kamryn came earlier on her own...I'm kinda expecting I won't even have the chance to choose to be induced or not) :)

SO--I was looking back at what happened at this time with Kamryn. And according to my journal entries:
37 weeks-I was 1.5 cm dilated and he was talking about inducing a week early if she hadn't come by then. (sound familiar?!!) :)
38 weeks-I was 4 cm --Kamryn was posterior however so labor hadn't actually begun yet. Dr. Judd tried to turn her, but was unsuccessful. However, it helped to start contractions and I had her 2 days later.

Interesting how this little guy is kinda in the same predicament! However, as far as I know, he is facing the correct way so he could potentially start my body into labor even earlier! :) Hmm...baby this weekend.... ??? :) We'll see! :)

FridayFunny--Kamryn Dancing

We were at Grandma and Grandpa's last week---Kamryn was a hoot! :) (sorry I didn't get this posted on Friday!!) :)

She's finally here!

Juniper KyLee Nielsen was born on March 25 2010 at 12:56 am.

7 lbs. 8 oz. 20"

Mom (my cousin) and baby are doing well!  Parents are SO excited she is finally here!
(Due date was the 23rd. Mom was induced on the night of the 23rd--
--ended up having a c-section on the 25th!)

Can't wait to see the sweet thing in person!

Love you, Kyle and Adrienne!

Elder Seamons is going on a mission!

Ryan's Brother, Eric, got his mission call on Tuesday.  He has been called to serve a 24-month mission in Fort Lauderdale, Florida speaking Haitian Creole.  He is very excited and we are all excited and proud of him.  He reports to the MTC on June 23, 2010.  Congratulations Elder Seamons!

We all got together at the Provo Temple to watch him open his call.  I have a video of him opening it, but can't post it right now because of the internet connection. (blah!)  BUT I don't even have a picture of him reading it or opening it...how sad is that?!! Just video that I can't do anything with!  (Do you have one Linda that I can include in this post?!?!) :)

It was pretty windy---Kamryn all bundled up while Eric was opening his call.

Afterwards, we went to Mimi's Cafe to celebrate.
Eric called a bunch of friends, family and ward members throughout dinner!  I'm sure everyone around us knew exactly where he was going and what he was speaking by the time they left the restaurant! :)
He was so anxious to know more about the language!  I have no doubt he will be an excellent missionary!
It was a wonderful night and we are so excited to see him get ready to serve the Lord for the next 2 years!

New Spring Outfits

Grandma got Spring Fever last week while shopping and found some way cute clothes for Kamryn! :)  (Sometimes it is just SO nice for mom to have grandma's that spoil a little bit!  Especially when mom is 9 months pregnant and wanting to shop but just can't get enough energy to go out and do it on her own!) :)
Pretty Dress!  Funny thing was that the hanger said 2T...but the dress is actually a 4T.  Oops!  Oh well, it's a little broad in the shoulders this year but will be PERFECT for next year!  :) It's just so cute, I don't want to take it back! :)
This one is also sooo cute!  And the great thing is that other Grandma also bought her the other style to this outfit (Yellow pokadots and a sun, instead of Red pokadots and a Strawberry!)  I'll have to find a picture of the other one.  They fit so well and are just too cute! (I just wish the weather would stay nice enough for them now!) haha
Another outfit...although I don't have a great shot of it right now.  This one has a blue and green plaid skirt that compliments the shirt.  Same style as the strawberry above!

Anyway...sorry...not much of a post...but I'm just SO excited for Spring and Summer and SO grateful for Grandmas who take care of us... I had to post about it! :)

Happy Spring! :)

Found a picture!

Multiple posts---

Posted 2 posts today---hopefully there will be even more! (lots to catch up on!) :)

However, I will have to postpone them a little more now because I hear Kamryn waking up from her nap!

Enjoy! :)

Baby Shower--back in February!!

My cousin, Adrienne, is pregnant with her first and is due March 23rd! (Yes...that was yesterday!) :)  She is actually in labor as I write this ... but I never got to blog about the baby shower I threw for her back in February.  It turned out so cute--and I finally have pictures from my mom--so here goes! :)

Theme: Baby Hands and Feet
Colors: Pink and Green

I tried my hand at a diaper cake! I've always wanted to make one, but never had.  It actually turned out pretty good (if I do say so myself!) :) (sorry the pictures are a little dark).  Too bad this picture isn't of the front of the cake---the shoes have little green vines on the front!  Matched SO perfectly and I didn't even mean to! :)
I also decided to get really creative and make these candy-filled booties for party favors!  I found a pattern online and just fell in love!  They turned out really cute!  Few hours of work, but a perfect favor!

Us Pregnant Girls! :) (she is exactly 4 weeks ahead of me with her pregnancy).
Adrienne's cousin, Tiffany, was also there and pregnant! She was due at the beginning of March and just had her baby--so precious!

We played multiple games, but one was guessing how big Adrienne's tummy is (around).  It was kinda funny to see one pregnant lady measuring another pregnant lady! :)  Our bellies kept bumping! lol
Adrienne reading her answers for "How well do you know Mommy and Daddy" game.
We also played a game where we split into teams and decorated onesies for the new baby.  They all turned out very cute! (I'm not sure why I don't have a picture of the 4th one...it was darling as well!) :)

I was happy to see it turn out so well!  It was a fun project for me--something outside of my house to distract me from MY pregnancy!!

Now if only Adrienne's little girl would stop being so stubborn and be born... :)
Love you, cuz!!  Can't wait to meet her!

BYU "Madness"!

Last weekend we invited Kelsey and Zac over to watch the BYU game with us.  Because our nice TV is in our bedroom...it becomes a party on our bed when we have people over to watch/play on the TV! :)  Kamryn loves it!

We had Pizza, Soda, Wings,  Chips and Dip --- all the good stuff for a good game!

And it was fun to watch...however...kinda depressing because they unfortunately didn't win.   But the best part was Kamryn! :) Because of all the groaning and yelling from these BYU fans, I was hesitant to put Kamryn to bed at her normal bedtime. (worried that she would just be woken up if she actually did ever get to sleep!)  I knew she was tired when she kept doing this:

So, she and I sat and read a few books in the game room.  At about 8:30 (bedtime is 8:00 usually) she went into her room.  I assumed she was getting another book---but she never came back.  I went into her room and found her up on her crib railing, binkie in mouth, just hanging on and waiting for me to put her to bed!  It was SO cute!  I still am kicking myself for not having my camera right then!  I've never actually seen her climb up on the crib before. :)  And what 1-year-old tells MOM when it is time to go to bed!  Isn't it usually the other way around?! :)  (But that got me thinking...is the toddler bed going to be coming out sooner than later?! Maybe...we'll see!) :)

New Blog Header

As many of you have probably noticed, I now have an interactive banner as my header.  Ryan and I found this program called Bannersnack that allows you to easily make flash banners/slideshows and then post them.  We got some free points to use for the next few months, so I'm playing with it!

It's been fun to create different things and see what is possible!  I'm flabbergasted at the power that is available with photoshop and flash as well as other adobe applications! :)  It's been fun to learn how to use them more effectively...but I still have LOTS to learn! :)

Just so you know...if you click on Kamryn's picture or the baby's picture you can easily get to their blogs. (nothing on baby's blog yet, since he isn't even here yet!) :)  I'm going to try to be better at posting on both of their blogs.  I'm hoping someday they will be able to use them themselves and start "journaling" early on in life!  Not a bad habit to get into!

Anyway, watch for other banners and interactive things posted on the blog!  Let me know what you think! :)

I am thinking...

So, with only 28 days of pregnancy left (let's face it...today is just about over already!) :) I have a lot on my mind.  I keep thinking I need to write everything down (journal it) for after the baby is born and for when I'm ready to have another one.  That way I have lots to read to remind me of what I'm feeling like as I'm entering the 9th month of pregnancy!  So...here goes!

I'm thinking:
  • I'm thinking my back hurts.
  • I'm thinking about how I was so so so anxious when my countdown told me I still had 100 days left!  That day I was going to make a countdown chain to help pass time by....hmm...I'm at 28 days now and still haven't even started making one!! :) lol  Talk about procrastination!  How long does it take YOU to do something you've wanted to do for a while!?!  We'll see if I even  get around to it now! :)
  • I'm thinking my tummy is large--however, I don't have an outie belly button.  It's just flat this time!
  • I'm thinking about how the doctor says this baby is larger than Kamryn was.  I hope not too much larger!
  • I'm thinking that there has got to be some way to help my body be ready for labor sooner than later.
  • I'm thinking I'm thirsty. I've drinken 6 bottles of water today already.
  • I'm thinking I'm sick of going to the bathroom.
  • I'm thinking I want to live on tylenol because of these sore muscles.
  • I'm thinking I wish I didn't have to move for the next month! :)
  • I'm thinking heartburn is AWFUL!
  • I'm thinking food doesn't taste very good anymore. I need an appetite again!
  • I'm thinking I have to go to the bathroom again.
  • I'm thinking I don't have clothes that fit anymore...again!  But what's the point of buying something I'll only use for a month or so?!!  I just can't bring  myself  to do it!
  • I'm thinking I want to go shopping ... but just don't have the drive to do it and I KNOW my energy won't last!
  • I'm thinking about how fun it is going to be to have a newborn again--to cuddle and cuddle and cuddle!
  • I'm thinking how wonderful it will be to exercise  and get in shape again.  I've never loved exercising...in fact...I really hate it!  But I'm feeling so motivated to get toned and skinny again!  I want to swim, I want  to play the Wii Fit, I want  to stretch and tone my tummy!
  • I'm thinking heartburn is AWFUL!!
  • I'm thinking about how Kamryn is going to react to the baby.  She held a baby for the first time last week (3 month old baby) and LOVED it!  It just brought warmth to my heart watching her be so excited and proud of herself with the baby---I'm so excited to see what she'll want to do with him everyday!
  • I'm thinking about how Ryan and I are going to be parents of 2...and that it makes me feel "grown up".  I mean, we see plenty of young (student) couples who have A kid...but not TWO!  We're entering the world of a "family" rather than a couple with a kid.  Don't get me wrong...I'm excited...but uncertain at the same time if I really am "grown up" enough! :)
  • I'm thinking I have to go to the bathroom again!
  • I'm thinking about the summertime---can't wait to go swimming!  Can't wait to be out in the sun! Can't wait to go on a vacation!  Don't care where---just somewhere  WARM! :)
  • (however, I'm not sure WHEN exactly we'll be able to get away!)
  • I'm thinking about my Dr. Appointment I had today---wishing I knew if I have started progressing or not yet.  I won't know anything for another 2 weeks though.
  • I'm thinking I need  another bottle of water to drink!
  • I'm thinking about how 4 weeks really isn't THAT far away...but at the same time feels like FOREVER!
  • I'm thinking that it  catches me off guard when I think that I could really have another baby in just 18 days (if he is as early as Kamryn!)
  • I'm thinking about all my family and friends that I have around.  I was looking  at pictures of when we had Kamryn and all the help and support we had.  I am looking forward to all the love and support we will feel with this baby too!
  • I'm thinking I'm excited for my hospital stay! In fact, I'm excited for labor and delivery!  My doctor told me today that with each pregnancy, the pregnancy gets harder and harder! BUT the delivery gets easier and easier!  Well...I thought my first delivery was pretty darn easy so if that holds true, I have NOTHING to worry about this time! :)  (All I can say though, is thank heaven for epidurals!) :)
  • I'm thinking about my wonderful husband and his wonderful and flexible job.  It is going  to be easy for him to come and go as he needs when this baby comes.
  • I'm thinking that this baby has no more room to grow...he's between my legs and up in my ribs already!  What is going to happen in 4 more weeks?!! :)
  • I'm thinking about what we are going to name him... Kasen, Kyler, Kobe... not even meaning to do the "K" thing...but those all sound best with "ryan" as the middle name! :)
  • I'm thinking about how this pregnancy has been tougher in some ways, but easier in others.
  • Tougher: energy levels(Kamryn), pain in Braxton contractions, more pain in tummy muscles
  • Easier: relationship with Ryan, being paranoid about things, sleeping
  • I'm thinking I don't feel as anxious as I expected to be at this point...but I would be very pleased if the baby came earlier than later! :) But I don't feel like I need to PUSH it as much this time.
  •  I'm thinking I need to pack for the hospital---which also includes going to get a couple things for breastfeeding and postpartum!
I'm thinking it's just about time for this baby to come! What do you think?!! :)

(Thanks for reading...this is more for my journal and memory than anything!) :)

Playing with Photoshop

I love taking pictures and am trying to learn photoshop.  Here's some pictures I played with tonight!  I learned a lot in the past few hours! :)  It was fun!
(originals -- photoshopped)

Wrapped around her finger

My family and the Heuers (cousins who live next door to my parents) all have been taking TaeKwondo for the past year or so.  Their studio happens to be right down the street from our current apartment, so therefore, it is pretty easy for them to all stop by before or after Taekwondo to visit!  However, last week my mom had something else going on during Taekwondo and had to leave early, but the boys would stay the whole time and come over to our house after so we could drive them home.

Kamryn LOVES these boys!
(and has them wrapped around her little finger to do every wish she desires!) :)

It was so funny to watch these 6 BIG boys all hovered and chasing after and playing with this little girl!  I'm so glad she has such good uncles and cousins!
