Daddy's little birdies

Ryan came downstairs yesterday with a milkshake.  He was immediately greeted by 2 hungry birdies! :)

I love the sequencing of the first 3 pictures, don't you?!

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

In order to get Kamryn to nap or go to bed these days, we have to ask her what we are going to do when she wakes up.  (Sorta a weird way to get her excited to do something after she naps!  She is SO good at negotiating these days!) :)  So, the other day, while we were playing on Disneypreschool.com, we found a recipe for Mickey mouse cupcakes.  So, she wanted to make them when she woke up!

Kamryn's cupcake didn't really turn out looking much like Mickey.  But she was very excited about it! :)
(I caught this picture right when she was blinking!  oops!) :)
Aunt Krista made Mickey's with us!

 Yum Yum Yum

Kyler enjoyed the afternoon as well!  He got to taste his first grasshopper cookie!  Yum Yum!

P.S.  I just had to show what Kamryn was wearing, for record's sake.
Such a classic insisted-by-a-2-year-old-outfit, don't ya think?! :)

Kyler has 2 moms

Kamryn will often see me doing something with Kyler and jump right in to do it.  Whether it be diapering, playing or feeding--she does it all!  :)
This particular night, I had put the spoon down for a few seconds and Kamryn swooped in and took over! :)

I love this last picture---she opens her mouth to help him open his mouth! :)
(We've all done it, haven't we!?!) :)

Dollies are great friends to...

(However, little brothers are not such great friends.)

This is my 2 year old

Ever since Kamryn was a small baby I have often realized that she is not like other kids.  She is somewhat abnormal.  I say this in the most optimistic way, however.  When I say she is abnormal I mean:

  • that she never went through the phase of putting everything in her mouth...
  • She hasn't ever run away from me when going places.
  • she doesn't like to knock over towers of blocks that she has built.
    (to name a few).
I'm not blogging to gloat or brag about how "easy" she is...(because she DOES throw fits one after another!) :)  But I have had a couple of experiences recently with her that remind me so much of how lucky I am!  (and to watch out for when Kyler is this age because I know without a doubt that he will be exactly opposite!) :)

Story #1:
I was taking the kids over to my inlaws to visit for the evening (5 minutes from our house) and my mother in law asked me to pick up the Little Ceasars pizza she had just ordered over the phone.  I said I would get it, expecting to run in and pay for it and leave the kids in the car for 1 minute.  Well, when I got there, the store was the busiest I've EVER seen it! It was going to take me a good 10 minutes to stand in line and just get the pizzas! So...I had to take the kids in.  We crossed the parking lot, Kyler in one arm and Kamryn holding my hand.  When I finally got to the front and got the pizzas, I had Kyler in one arm and pizzas in the other--leaving no hand for Kamryn.  I told her to walk right next to me and that there were cars so she needed to stay with me.  I slowed my pace to stay with her, but she was right there with me the whole time and then got in the car without any trouble.  No running.  No goofing around.  It was amazing to me that a 2 year old could handle something like that.

Story #2:
Tonight Kamryn brought me a little piece of paper saying "Color! Color!"  I looked and saw that she had colored on a free Del Taco meal coupon.  Not a big deal.

Then I remembered that there were markers on my desk (not washable) downstairs right by that paper.  Obviously that's what she had colored with.  I went downstairs and found this:

Markers with lids on them correctly.
No marker anywhere else in sight.  Not on the computer, the desk, not even her!
I am amazed that she is so capable and just so cautious and so aware at age 2.

Cougar Kiddos!

This Christmas turned out to be a Disney Christmas and a BYU Christmas.  I really should get everything together from those 2 categories and take a picture! :)  Not intentional--but it happened.  We got the kids matching BYU t-shirts and then Kyler got a Football jersey (cutest thing EVER) and Kamryn got a cheerleader dress and bows for her hair!  :)  Good thing Daddy is hopefully going to BYU for grad school too, huh?! :)

GOOOOOOOOO COUGARS!

Good little helper

Aunt Krista's chore was to clean the bathroom---what better way to make it fun than to encourage your niece to help out! :)

It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!  I hope you are all having a fabulous holiday season---we sure are.

Kamryn has been so fun this year!  She just can't get enough of decorating and lights and Christmas!  And the greatest part is that she has no idea what will happen Christmas morning.  She isn't expecting a thing!  Don't we wish we all could have that attitude for Christmas?

Kamryn loved helping decorate our tree.  We did our ornaments the first day--She was VERY into the princesses! :) (of course!) :)

Cute Kyler!  Getting so big.  Ready for his first Christmas.
--Candy Canes for the second day--

 We love Christmas!

Kamryn just can't get enough of it!  (I love this picture!) :)

Then we set up everything of my parents' upstairs a few days later--

Grammy showed Kamryn all her Nativity sets and told Kamryn not to touch.
Kamryn adores them.  She loves looking at all the "Baby Jesus's"...
It's just so hard not to touch--but she is EXCELLENT at not touching and just looking!
Time to help Grandad with lights on the tree
Kamryn found an extra star in my parents things--so we went downstairs and put it on our tree.  Kamryn called it "candles---tree".  Of course, she wanted to help do it.

There--all set up for Christmas!

These next two weeks are going to be busy busy busy for us.  (Hence, I'm trying to catch up on my blog now!  I know I'll get behind again!) :)

This week we get to go help Grandma and Grandpa set up their tree and Christmas stuff on Monday,
then we get to celebrate Daddy's (Ryan's) birthday on Wednesday,
Then Ryan's aunt flies in to visit for the weekend on Thursday,
Then Elder Eric Moe gets home from his mission from Brazil on Friday!
Then the BYU game is on Saturday and we get to spend time with Ryan's aunt.
Then Sunday through Wednesday Ryan and I are sneaking away for our own little (and much needed) vacation to warm and sunny CALIFORNIA!
Then Wednesday when we get back, Kylie is home too! :) yay!

(And then the rest of the week is even just as busy!  Christmas is right around the corner!) :)

We wish we could get you all a Christmas card this year--but the blog will have to do!  :)  I have put the card I designed for this year in my header. :)

We hope all our friends and family will have a wonderful Christmas and Holiday.
Best wishes for you and your families.

Love,
Katrina, Ryan, Kamryn and Kyler
