Time to go home

Friday afternoon Kyler and I were discharged and it was time to go home!

Kyler--all dressed and ready to go home!  I had brought a couple of different outfits because I wasn't sure how big he was going to be.  Turns out he's pretty small!!  Some newborn stuff is even too big! :)

Kamryn is ready to take him home!
sweet boy!
I wasn't dying to leave the hospital as soon as possible to be honest...but at the same time I knew it would be good and feel good to be home.  I could've left as early as 11:00 that morning...but I wasn't completely ready until about 4:00! :)
Our cute little family!
Kamryn...the escort!
Kamryn had to stop and play in the lobby of the hospital...can't pass up new toys! ;)
All tucked in the car.  Ready to go!
2 carseats really fills up our car! :)
Escorting the baby into the house!
Kamryn didn't want any help going up the stairs.  She wanted to do it all by herself!
Showing the baby our house!  Kamryn went into her room, pointed to her car, her crib, other things.  Then pulled the blankets off Kyler and wanted to get him out of his carseat!  What a good big sister! :)

Welcome Hone, baby Kyler!

Hospital Visitors

Grammy--My mom was there for the delivery--barely! :)  She came and visited every day and was able to take Kamryn sometimes during my hospital stay.
Grandad--came a few times as well.  (It's nice that he works fairly close to the hospital!) :)
Grandma--My mother in law came a couple times too and also helped out a lot by taking Kamryn for sometime during the hospital stay!  It's so nice to have grandparents nearby! :)
  Aunt Sara
Uncle Eric
Grandpa Seamons
Great Aunt Bev (she was there while Grandma was there...I didn't get a picture of her actually holding him though... boo!  Bad Mom!)
Uncle Ryan
Uncle Austin
Uncle Brandon
Great Grandma Burdett (G.G.)
Aunt Kelsey, Uncle Zac and Friend (Almost like a cousin!) Cassie
Friend (Almost Aunt) Nancy
Aunt Kelsey and Uncle Zac
(doesn't a baby look so good with them?!?!!?  hint hint ;) jk)

Overall, the hospital stay was really good.  It felt MUCH shorter than when I was there with Kamryn.  I'm not sure why though.  With Kamryn it was summertime, more people came to visit, I slept better, I recovered slower.  Maybe all that had something to do with it!  Doesn't matter---it was great to have so many visitors and phone calls and contact through the internet!  We feel so blessed!

Labor (part 2) and Delivery

At 10:30am on the 14th, I was dilated to a 6.  I had felt NO contractions, the epidural wasn't painful...but the IV being put in was painful!  The woman in the room next door was also a patient of Dr. Judd.  When the nurse checked me she informed me that the other woman was  complete and Dr. Judd was on his way over to deliver her baby.  She said, "We'll see how far you can come in an hour...maybe he won't have to leave and then come back!"  They delivered the baby next door (we heard the crying through the wall) and then around 11:15 the nurse and the Dr. came into my room.  The nurse checked me and said  that I was  a 9.5...maybe a 10.  So they decided to go for it.

I QUICKLY called my mom and  said "Hurry!  They are getting everything ready and set up for me to push and deliver!"  Dr. Judd was talking to me and  getting his gown on.  Ryan and I were trying to tell them to stall as long as possible...I didn't really feel like they understood how close my mom really was though! :)  Just before I started pushing and the Dr. got into position, my mom walked in!  It was PERFECT timing! :)  (Then Dr. Judd started saying "we would've waited for you!" ... haha... I wasn't getting that impression BEFORE she got there!)  I pushed twice then took a small break.  Pushed one more time and then Dr. Judd told me to stop pushing and I was done!  It was THAT EASY!

As soon as Kyler was out I felt an instant relief of pressure!  It was amazing!  I don't remember feeling so much relief when Kamryn was delivered!  (but maybe my epidural wasn't as strong with this time so I felt more pressure initially.  I don't know!  It was very interesting)  When Kyler came out, he didn't really scream.  He was kind of crying...but not nearly as loud or strong as I imagined and expected it would be. (Kamryn was SO upset when she was born!) :)  However, when Kamryn was born, she had trouble screaming right at first and the doctor had to hold her upside down for a minute.  I expected him to do the same with Kyler...but he didn't.  He just handed him off to the nurse and the respiratory therapist. They checked him out, cleaned him up, weighed him...before I knew it, I had Kyler in my arms!  It was wonderful!

Kyler with Doctor Judd
So excited!
Kinda a blurry picture, but this was my nurse before and during delivery.  Andra was wonderful!
(I feel so lucky to have had good nurses for both of my deliveries!)
Such an easy labor and an easy delivery.  I've also been recovering much quicker than I did with Kamryn!  I think I have become a fan of inductions after this experience! :)
Hopefully more posts to come soon!  (having trouble finding time to blog, mother and SLEEP!) :)

Labor Part 1

I'm in labor and guess what I'm doing--I'm blogging!! Don't you LOVE technology and this day in age! :) I sure do! :)

We got up at 5:30 this morning, got things ready and headed off to the hospital. (Kamryn stayed the night at Grammy's house so we didn't have to worry about her!) :)

We arrived at the hospital and started getting everything going pretty quick.  But first we had to take some last belly shots:

Got to the hospital by about 6:30. Met my nurse, Andra, and she is AWESOME! :)  She set me up with an IV.  I just about passed out because she ended up poking a blood valve first...so she had to do it again.  I got really light headed and had to lay down, but the second poke wasn't nearly as bad.  Ryan was holding my hand and talking to me through it so I would be distracted!  Thank goodness! :)

Soon after the anesthesiologist came in and gave me the epidural.  It really wasn't too bad.  I was a little nervous about it this time because I couldn't remember what it felt like from last time.  (I was having bad enough contractions last time to cover up the epidural process!) :)  But turns out I had nothing to worry about!    It was hard to relax because I was cold and shivering...but everything went well and within a half hour I was numb.  It's WONDERFUL!  I was so relaxed (still am) and just wanted to fall asleep. (however, anxiety has kept me awake again..just like last time! :) lol)

I got light headed from my blood pressure dropping after the epidural.  so...the oxygen mask came out again (like last time as well)!  SO flattering!!

And now Ryan and I are just waiting.  This is the EASIEST thing!  :) I am loving it! :)

The nurse just checked me (at 10:30ish) and I am dilated to a 6 now.  I'm cruising right along and will probably have a baby by lunch time! :) yipee!!

I keep looking at the empty bassinet...can't believe he's going to be here so soon! :)

Can't help but smile!! :)

Keep you all posted!  Thanks for your love and support and prayers!

And the verdict is...

Saw the Doctor this morning and I'm progressed enough that he gave me the choice of whether or not to be started this week.  Ryan and I have been talking and thinking about it and think it would be good for our family for me to be induced.

So--the verdict is to start me Wednesday morning at 6:30 in Orem! :) yay!

It feels a little surreal to think that I'll have another baby in just 48 hours (probably) :)  Very excited and I think having it "planned" like  this will make it easier to determine what to do with Kamryn during it all! She'll probably be more "at ease" about it as well---instead of being thrown around every which way and unsure of what is going on! :)

So...we'll keep you informed.  As far as the next couple of days, I'm going to try really hard to update my blog and get things organized and ready.  (And get myself ready mentally ... I'm gonna have 2 kids!) :)

39 weeks!

Doctor appointment for 39 week checkup is tomorrow morning!

I'll be back after to post about what's going on.  As far as any progress this week ... no contractions, no movement, no nothing! BLAH!
However, my parents were out of town for the week and now they are home again and I started having some contractions and tightening tonight...so hopefully the Dr. will be able to see progress tomorrow at the appointment! :)

I'll keep you posted! :) Love ya!

no baby yet

Don't have  tons of time to post right now...

but after a very frustrating weekend, we still have no baby and Dr. says he would give me at least another week.  However, with my track record (Kamryn) he could come this week...no way to know!  But this last weekend was just a lot of false labor...frustrating but it is what it is.

(I think I'm frustrated mostly because with Kamryn I never experienced a bunch of false labor.  In fact, really not any!  She just came!)  :)

Anyway, just thought I'd update everyone...I'm going to spend the week trying not to think about it too much.  He'll come when he comes and that is good for me.  Heavenly Father is in charge and will help my body do what it needs to do in the time it needs to happen!

Thanks for your support and love! I feel it. :)

38th week of pregnancy (March 30-April 6)

Belly photos
My mom threw me a "mini-shower" for me.  Some of my aunts and cousins and my Grandma and sisters and moms went out to eat at Red Lobster. It was very yummy and very fun!  I got a little spoiled--I love all the gifts!  (Thank you, thank you, thank you!) :)

Then last night I started feeling contractions around 5:30.  I walked up and down our hallway a few times to help them stay.  Then we decided to go to Maceys (grocery store just down the street) and walk around there.  (wear me out AND wear Kamryn out before bedtime!) :)  At about 7:30 we decided to go up to my parents to put Kamryn down there for bed, just in case we had to go to the hospital.  While we were there, we decided to play cards. (Fools Bridge--Grandma's favorite game!)  I stood up and walked around a lot of the time to keep contractions going.

After a few hours, contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was having to breathe heavy.  So, around midnight we went down to the hospital.  The nurse walked into our room after I changed and I recognized her!  She was the same nurse that helped me when I was in labor with Kamryn almost 2 years ago!!  How funny is that?!! :)

She hooked me up to a couple of monitors and checked me.  I was dilated 3 cm and 70% effaced.  They can't actually admit me to the hospital unless I'm at least 4 cm, so they let me sit and contract for an hour and came back to check.  No progress.  So...she let me sit another hour--I was soooo tired and I was dying!  Contractions were really strong... yet an hour later when the nurse checked, I still was in the same place!  I was SO frustrated!!  Ana (the nurse) said our only option really was for me to get a shot of morphine to help me relax and sleep, but it won't stop contractions if this is real labor.  I agreed to get the shot and I went home and crashed!  4:00am till about 9:30am I was out like a light.  Then throughout conference sessions today, I couldn't really stay awake!  The drugs were still affecting me.  I couldn't think straight...I was dizzy...could barely walk!  Finally at about 7:00 tonight I was feeling better---and now it is 8:00 and I'm finally starting to feel contractions again!  Hopefully I'll be able to go back and be admitted to the hospital tonight!  Cross your fingers and say a little prayer!  We'll keep you updated---facebook, texting and hopefully blogging.  We'll see! :)
