It's been a pretty good day (early Fridayfunny)!

Kamryn played in the water table after I cleaned it out.  It was SO windy out though ... but she lasted longer than I thought she would..  She's getting to be such a big girl.

Love this little skirt!  She looks like a natural dancer, don't you think?!! :)

But this next event of our day TOTALLY made my day!!  I could not stop laughing! :)

I was changing Kamryn's diaper after she was getting wet outside and I asked her if she wanted to go sit on the potty. She said "yes" so we went and sat  on the potty.  I told her I'd give her a candy for going potty and encouraged her to actually "go" in the potty. She didn't actually go, but we wiped and flushed, then went back to her room to get her dressed.

After she was dressed again, we went out to the kitchen and I said "Do you want a candy for the potty?" She replied "no" but she always says no first, so I went for the candy anyway.  I asked if she wanted one as I got them down and she said "ok". (her new favorite word!) :)  After taking FOREVER to choose a candy, she chose a caramel filled chocolate kiss.  She unwrapped it herself and then brought me the wrapper.  I told her to throw it in the trash--so she did--which took another 2 minutes.  Then she ran off with her candy and I went to check on Kyler.  And I then I hear Kamryn climbing onto her potty stool in the bathroom---"that's weird" I think. "Why is she in by the potty again?"  I go in there and find her standing over the toilet, looking in it!

 And there is her chocolate kiss IN the potty!!! 

I guess she took me literally when I said we were going to get a candy for the potty!  :)

Needless to say we flushed that one (awarded the potty so to speak!)  and got Kamryn a new one! 

Now--I dare you not to laugh about this the rest of your day!  I'm still giggling! :) 

FridayFunny--Kamryn Dancing

We were at Grandma and Grandpa's last week---Kamryn was a hoot! :) (sorry I didn't get this posted on Friday!!) :)

No friday funny...

The video wouldn't upload both times I tried Friday and Saturday...so I'll have to try again later.

But our house is germ-infested right now... Kamryn has been sick all week...but has been doing better each day. However, now I have it really bad (stuffy nose, awful cough, can't sleep, etc) and Ryan I think is coming down with it! Rough night last night for all 3 of us! What a houseful of sickies!

Post again when I get the chance... :)

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
I'm so so so sorry I haven't been around!  It's been over a week since I posted last... it's been REALLY busy around here this past week!  I hate being cut off from you and unable to have our daily visits!  But now I'm back and don't see anything coming up on the calendar in the near future, that should separate us again! :)

Highlights from the week:  (And a Fridayfunny since I missed that too!!  :( sniff...)

1. I played the role as "mom of 5" this week!

My Aunt and Uncle decided to go on a cruise this week...and asked if Ryan and I would come stay at their house with their kids!  They don't go away very often, so it was so fun to do this for them!  Not to mention that their kids are AWESOME!!  They are SOOO good!  They are helpful and happy and they help take care of eachother as well!  And Kamryn LOVED being with them!

2. Playing outside.  Kamryn experienced her first jumps on a trampoline! She was hesitant at first, but quickly got the hang of it!

She still LOVES slides, though!  (too bad it is so so cold!)

3. Kamryn loves the dog!
Everyday, the kids would all go to school from 8-4ish, so Kamryn and I just hung out at home mostly.  They have a dog named Missy, who was home with us.  Missy is very good with all the kids and she is pretty laid back.  She lays around the house most of the day.  Kamryn would be playing with some toys and then get up just to go pet Missy, then clap her hands "proud of herself" and then go back to whatever she was doing!  Kamryn also quickly figured out where the doggy treats were and she wanted to feed them to Missy at any opportunity she had! :)  Funny girl!

5. Kamryn "helping" Daddy with the Wii Fit!
Ryan and I have been talking about getting a Wii Fit for a bit, so we were excited when we saw that my cousins had one we could play with all week!  (We are now in the market for one because we liked it so much!) :)

Kamryn likes playing it too...with Daddy! :)  (Ryan doesn't mind a challenge!)


6. Fridayfunny!  Kamryn exploring a new bathroom... then brought us what she found! :)

7. And My belly is growing and growing every day!  The books say our little guy is now 3.2 lbs and 17 inches long!  Can't believe he'll double in size in the next 9 weeks!  :)

We survived a fun fun fun week!  I liked having a "project" outside of our normal day to day things to keep me busy and occupied enough to not think about being pregnant too much! :)  

Hmm...what should my next project be? ... that of course, won't keep me away from you?! 

We shall see!

Home makeover and Friday Funny!

2 Friday funnies:
Kamryn has been climbing lots more lately and can now get on every chair in the house. (luckily our bed is still too high!) :)  The other day I was in my room doing something and heard her kinda "huffing and puffing" and working very hard at something.  I went into the office and found her like this:

Uh-oh! I'm caught! :)  (We've never seen her climb up to USE the computer!  But she was anxiously typing and then using the mouse and pointing to the screen, then back to typing!) :0)  Wonder where she learned all that?! :)


#2: Kamryn hates to have her fingernails cut and her toenails are even worse.  But Ryan was in the bathroom the other day, cutting his toenails, and Kamryn went in, watched him for a minute, and then sat down and stuck her foot in his face!  Kinda cute!  Wanting to be just like Daddy!

So...we had a nail cutting party on the bathroom floor!

Ok...and now...the makeover of our house! (This all happened today! I'm so excited about it!)

Last week we ordered a new crib, got a crib mattress and then ordered baby bedding for our little boy.  We decided to get a convertible crib for Kamryn (turns into a toddler bed) and then pass the other crib down to baby brother.  

Well, yesterday the crib came!  I was so excited...but Ryan had to work all day and wasn't around to put it together. (Let's be real...with my tummy, I'm not going to be able to do it!)  so...I had to wait with that huge box in my living room ALL day yesterday! :)  Lucky for me, however, Ryan's day off every week is Fridays!  So we had time this morning!

PROJECT ONE: move old crib from Kamryn's room into other bedroom.

1. This crib is already Duct Taped in some places because of past moves, so it isn't real easy to take apart.  So, we were hoping it would just fit through Kamryn's door.  Unfortunately--Nope.  BUT it did fit through without the door. So Ryan took off the door and we got it to the hallway. Success!

2. Moving the crib from the hallway into the other bedroom: uh-oh!  Even with the door off, the crib isn't fitting into the room...  We got out a tape measure and sure enough, our door frame to the 2nd room is 2 inches smaller than Kamryn's door!!  What is that?!!!  I cannot get over who designed this apartment... but they obviously weren't really into being consistent!! :)  So...unfortunately...we had to take apart part of the crib anyway!  When that's what we were trying so hard to avoid!! Dang!

3. After much struggle and frustration...and probably 40 minutes...we got the crib from one room to the other!

PROJECT TWO: Build new crib in Kamryn's room

1. Ryan set out to build the crib and really, it only took 30 minutes to put together!  Pretty simple and he didn't even need my help much!  Although, Kamryn wanted to "help" a lot! :)   So my job was to distract her! 2. Crib is all set up...let Kamryn test it out!  She got in .... and started JUMPING!!  A new trampoline! ;)  As she was jumping, we realized that the mattress was too high for how tall she is.  She was gonna jump right out of that thing!  So...Ryan lowered the bottom springs to the lowest setting, and now it is perfect!

PROJECT THREE: Put doors back on both bedrooms

PROJECT FOUR: Organize Kamryn's room and other room now that both are looking more crowded with more furniture.

1. This didn't take too long...it was actually fun for me. 

2. While I was organizing, I asked Ryan to check on the status of our baby bedding being shipped.  I was just curious when I could expect it to be here because now I had an empty crib sitting in the bedroom.  He looked it up and it was out for delivery TODAY! :)  I was so excited!  I found myself checking and re-checking for it on the front porch!  Finally, the doorbell rang! (Picture: waiting for the bedding to come!)

PROJECT FIVE: Decorate with new baby bedding!

I think it turned out pretty well, don't you?!

PROJECT SIX: Survive 80 more days before baby boy is here! (maybe decide on a name needs to be included in that time?!!) :)

Funny Story Friday #1

I decided I'm going to post at least one funny story every Friday...just to try to keep up with the great things that Kamryn does every week! :)

This week I have FOUR to report! :) (However, a couple would've been last Friday but I didn't get to blog then...so we're catching up! Doesn't it seem like I'm ALWAYS playing the catch up game! sigh...)

Funny #1: Mine and Ryan's Funny
So, Kamryn wasn't feeling well a couple of days last week. She woke up in the middle of the night and I told Ryan to turn on the humidifier to help her breathe and sleep. Good intentions, right? Well, in the morning the humidifier was STILL GOING (I guess we filled it up a lot) and everything around it was sopping wet!!! Her humidifier is kept on top of our brand new bookshelf, and next to it were some small plastic disney figurines, easily wipeable, and a Belle barbie that she got for Christmas last year and IS STILL IN THE CARDBOARD BOX!! Uh-oh! SO...we had another "Christmas Morning" and opened the barbie. (oh, and did I mention that the water warped the back of the bookshelf a little bit and there was water dripping down the back onto the next shelf which was also wet...along with everything ON the shelf!) :)




Kamryn, very interested in what is going on.

Was into brushing the doll and the horse's hair...that's about it. I had to convince her to touch both of them!

Needless to say, I have now moved the humidifier elsewhere! I'm just glad nothing got completely ruined!

Funny #2: Kamryn, the artist!

New Years Eve we got home REALLY late. We were at parents houses for the day, put Kamryn to bed at my parents around 9, hung out there and celebrated the New Year, and then woke her up to bring her home around 1am. I had her blankets and binkies and sippy cup that she goes to bed with, in my purse. So when we got home I emptied my purse of her things right there at her crib, and then she went down and Ryan and I went to bed.

The next morning, Ryan went in to find this in Kamryn's bed:





Uh-oh! She had gotten a hold of a SHARPIE PEN out of my purse that I left within reach of the crib (oops) and decided to make an art project of her bedding!! She had a little on her hands, but nothing on her face! Thank heaven she didn't EAT it!! I am still baffled as to how I even left my purse in there AND within her reach! I must've been REALLY tired...because that is somehting I would be conscious about! :) (normally!)


Funny #3: Kamryn's Independence

I was working on the computer the other day and turned around to see this:




Kamryn has been very good at not getting into kitchen cupboards and pulling things out...till now! Now she thinks that it is normal to pull out a box of cereal and just sit on the couch and snack the day away! :) Silly girl! I don't think Ryan or I EVER just sit down to snack on a box of cereal...but apparently that's what she wants to do! :) (This was more just cute than funny...) :)

Funny #4:



I almost don't need to explain...but the story makes it better!

Kamryn was walking around with these veggies and just gnawing on them (she often does and we watch her closely!) She was acting like she was done with them, so I told her to throw them away if she was done. She took them to the trash can, opened the trash can, looked in, but decided to keep the veggies, and closed the trash can. She went over to the couch to play and we didn't think anything else of it. Usually when she is done with food or drink, she'll just leave it next to her toys and we clean it up when we clean up toys--easy enough!
About 2 hours later, AFTER KAMRYN WAS IN BED, Ryan and I both looked at the bookshelf at about the same time and just started laughing! We giggled for a long time about what Kamryn could've been thinking! :) Apparently she needed to save her veggies for later!
