Theme rooms

So with a "real job" and a new apartment, Ryan and I have been trying to decorate a little bit more to make this place feel more like a home instead of just a student apartment! (Which is all we've known up till now!) :) haha

We've come up with a few ideas (which I'm not going to spoil until I get pictures of each room--) but one that I am MOST excited for is the kitchen. I get a Disney Kitchen! I'm so excited! I've found that a lot of people will do their kitchen in just Mickey Mouse but I want it all around Disney and Disneyland! So, I'm looking around and trying to find fabrics and towels and pictures and cookie jars/snow globes and other things that would be fun decor to make it fun!

If anyone knows of any good places to shop -- let me know! For the most part, Disney doesn't give their rights out much so I'll have to get everything/anything I want actually through Disney shopping or Disney store or theme parks. BUT if anyone runs into sales -- let me know! This is going to be an ongoing process for a while! But I'm very excited!

I'll post pictures soon of what our apartment is becoming!

Life right now!

So, Kamryn has become quite the mover in the past couple of weeks. She no longer scoots like an inchworm but crawls quickly everywhere! One of her favorite things to do is pull herself up to a standing position and then get into EVERYTHING! So, there is nothing on our coffee table anymore, nothing on our TV stand and nothing down low! :)

She LOVES to watch Baby Songs! She LOVES music. Singing is definitely something that connects with her. She will stop and listen when I start singing, a song is on the TV, or even in church when it is time to sing a hymn. It is pretty cute!

She has been more cuddly lately. She went through a phase between newborn and now that she didn't like to cuddle or lay her head down on mommy or daddy but now she will snuggle SOMETIMES! It's so fun! I love it! I was playing with her one day at my parents' house and then suddenly she got tired, cuddled up to me, and fell asleep on my arm (pinning me to the floor!) So precious though! I love cuddling with her.

She also loves Daddy's belt. When he is laying down on the floor, that's the first thing she will go for. But when he's not wearing it...this is what we get!

Kamryn also has a fun time playing with her friend Sammy, who is just 3 months younger than her. They came over a couple weeks ago and we put Sammy in Kamryn's saucer. Sammy loved it and then Kamryn climbed up to play with her and loved it as well. I think Kamryn was thinking "This is great! I can play with the toys on the saucer now but I don't have to be trapped inside! I can still move around!!"

Too cute!!

Roommate outing

I've been reorganizing and redecorating our apartment in the past week because we moved to a new 2-bedroom in our same complex finally! Kamryn now has her own room! YAY!!

BUT because of all that, I've been looking through pictures and printing some to put in frames, and then I see all these pictures that I should blog about and have been meaning to, but just haven't sat down to do it! Well...Ryan's off playing with some of "the guys" so I have a little bit of time to catch up right now!

Mid April (the 18th I believe) I went up to Salt Lake for a get together with some of my old roommates. One of them graduated at the end of April and commissioned from ROTC Air Force. She is now going to be living in Germany for a couple of years and we won't see her for a while. So we all got together for a final "get together"! It was fun to see everyone again. There were originally 6 of us: Mandi, Chelsea, Abby, Calli, Meghan, and I. We lived together in the dorms and then moved off campus together. The only 2 of us who knew eachother beforehand was Meghan and I. But we all became great friends and have kept in contact since we met five years ago! I can't believe I've been out of high school for 5 years now! :)
After a couple of years, we all started going our separate ways: marriage, other roommates, new places to live, etc. But in those 2 years, we have plenty of memories and quotes and fun things to remember.

Sock logic, "sitting naked" (we didn't...just a funny quote!), talking on the phone, guys, dishes, sharing clothes, doing hair, new jobs, old jobs, new boyfriends, old boyfriends, our sign, "the roommies", ABMEKAMACACH!

(Abby...we wish you lived closer and could've been there)

Anyway, at our get together Kamryn got to play with Meghan's little boy, Davin. He is just a month older than her. It's been fun to see them grow up.

Davin likes to swing and is really good at it. Kamryn saw him swinging and was DYING to try it! (Literally, it sounded like she was dying the way she was groaning and screaming!!) :) So she had her first swing ride...she did NOT know what she was doing!! :) Davin is very chill in the swing...Kamryn just wanted to lean forward so much that she was going to fall out! But I did get a picture of her smiling! She still loved it! (Guess we'll have to practice THAT this summer!!)

Wicked!

Wicked (the musical) is in Salt Lake this year and we got tickets!! (because of inside connections! Thanks Leanne!!)

Friday the 24th of April, Ryan and I went with his family and my 3 sisters to go see Wicked! It has been 2 years (almost) since Ryan and I went down to LA on our honeymoon and I got to see Wicked for the first time! I was excited to see it again!

I have always been a fan of musicals but there are just some that are SO good! Wicked would be one of them! The entire time I sat there in the theater (both times we saw it) with chills and tingles running up and down my whole body! The music is THAT good! If you haven't heard the music or seen it...it is so so so worth it! At least once! Even if it is a little pricey! You won't regret it! :) I promise!!

(At least get the CD!)

My sisters in front of Capitol Theater! (This was Kylie's 2nd time seeing Wicked because of choir tour this year, but Kelsey and Krista hadn't seen yet! They loved it!!)

Ryan and I, wearing our Wicked shirts from our friend Lori who sent them to us when she saw it in London! She sent them to us because the show reminded her of us because we sang one of the songs at our wedding reception! She's SO nice to us!

Again, go listen to the music! You'll love it!! :)

Disneyland Trip (Spring Break!)

So April 11-18 was Spring Break for me and that week was between Ryan's classes and finals...so we headed down to California for the week--DISNEYLAND!!

There were 5 of us total. Ryan, Katrina, Kamryn, Krista, and Ryan. (Krista and Ryan are a couple of my younger siblings. They also have Annual Passes this year and we have agreed to take them a few times with us this year!)

Fun car ride!

Finally we made it! :)

Kamryn's excited to be at Disneyland again! :)

Waiting in lines: It was Spring Break so we were expecting it to be WAY crowded and long long lines...but it wasn't actually too bad! You just have to know how to work the system! :)

But it was crowded enough that we didn't do much of Fantasyland, but we did do King Arthur's Carousel a few times. That was probably Kamryn's favorite ride the first time she was at Disneyland--but she didn't LOVE it as much this time. She liked it but wasn't as fascinated with the gold bar again! :)

While we were there, some friends of ours from Provo (Winegardners), texted us and let us know they were going to be at Disneyland one of the days we were there. We only got to hang out with them for a couple of hours but it was so fun! We're planning on trying to plan a trip together sometime soon!

This picture is pretty awesome! I think it is incredible that we had both babies (6 and 9 months old) looking and even Samantha is smiling!! :) (the only thing that could be better is Kamryn's binkie out of her mouth!)

The theme at Disneyland this year is "What will you celebrate?!" They have this statue at the top of Main Street. Mickey balloons, streamers and an "invitation" to celebrate with them. Kinda cute...but I already miss the "Year of a Million Dreams" theme that they did for the last 2 years. The celebrate theme isn't nearly as good/fun...but Disneyland is still my favorite place! :)

It's a Small World is probably Kamryn's favorite ride (along with Winnie the Pooh). Disney just opened Small World again after they have added Disney characters dolls in it now. I was worried when I heard they were changing it because it is such a classic ride, but it was very tasteful. There are characters like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Ariel, Dory and Nemo, Mulan, Lion King characters, Lilo and Stitch, etc.

Kamryn was intrigued! :)

Lori (our wonderful friend who lets us come stay at her house everytime we go to Disneyland) came with us to Disneyland one day. It is always fun being around her! Then as if it wasn't enough for her to let us stay at her house, she took us out to eat at the new Cheesecake factory in Anaheim! It was yummy!

Our only picture with just the 3 of us....not great but at least we have one! :)

And because we were going to graduate in the next couple of weeks...we had to take some pictures with graduation caps! :)

And our Disney trip ended. :( When we got home, I had to find a ticker to start counting down to the next Disneyland visit! :)

Graduation is here!!

Ryan and I are both graduating within the next two weeks! Yay!!

BYU commencement is April 24th and USU is May 2nd.

We decided last week at Disneyland that we wanted to make graduation announcements for ourselves! We came up with this yesterday in about an hour!

I love it! Not many people get to do one together with their spouse! We love it!

First Easter!

Kamryn's first Easter compromised of 2 different "parties"...both NOT on Easter! :)

We were going to be driving to California on Easter Sunday this year and my parents were going to be in China over Easter Sunday...so we had to celebrate early!

So, the Sunday before Easter, we spent the day with my family. My family's Easter Bunny makes finding baskets difficult some years....he strings different colors of yarn around the house and the kids have to follow their color to find their basket! Here's what the front room looks like in the morning! :)

Kamryn was able to crawl underneath all of it! Didn't affect her much...

...till she saw it from above!! :)

The Easter Bunny brought Mommy and Daddy big bowls of candy....

and brought Kamryn a soft pink bunny! She wasn't so sure about it at first!

This green dress was also a gift from Grammy...kinda 'Eastery' so I wanted to take more pictures of her in it. This is what I got!

She kept moving and moving and moving! :) It was so funny! Some of them turned out kinda cute though! :) She dove for my camera a couple times too! Such an electronic guru already!

The other Easter celebration we had was with Ryan's family... Saturday before Easter Sunday. (They were also all going out of town on Easter Sunday! haha)

Kamryn got a Little Einstein Toy Piano that she LOVES! It's a little old for her to understand it all but she loves pushing all the buttons and making it light up. Grandma and Grandpa also got her a Peter Cottontail book that sings when you open it. She also loves that! She played with both on our trip to California this past week!

Ryan and I gave Kamryn a Winnie the Pooh toy for Easter. It spins and talks and has lights and colors. She loved it at the store so we thought we'd get it for her for Easter!

(And I just realized I don't have any pictures of either toy with her! Yikes! I'll have to get some and come back and edit this post! oops!! I think I had forgotten my camera that night. I wonder if Grandma Linda got any pictures that night.)

Anyway, Happy Easter Kamryn! We love you!
