New Fun Blog

So I have been working on this blog background and the pictures for a while now and Ryan and I FINALLY got them all up. I'm pleased with how it all turned out! :)

The pictures were our family pictures we took a little over a month ago. I finally got the printouts a couple days ago and I am SO excited to put them on my wall! :) A guy in Pleasant Grove, Scott Hancock, took them and I think he did a great job! Kinda expensive...probably won't do it again for a long time! But I was anxious to do pictures before I was pregnant again...we BARELY made it! :)

Anyway, I'm just so excited about my blog...I had to post about it! :) Hope everyone is well! Thanks for visiting! :)

First "Meeting" with our little one

Yesterday I had my first Dr. appointment and an ultrasound done. Everything is good and normal so far. The baby was wiggly during the Ultrasound but we managed to get one picture! :) AND it is growing quickly, apparently, so my due date is now April 20th! Almost a whole week earlier than I thought it would be! :) yay

Kamryn was pretty good at the Doctor's office. She was more antsy in the waiting room with Ryan, but she was really attentive during the ultrasound and wanted to keep looking at the picture of the baby. I don't think she really knows what it is or that we're going to have a baby quite yet, but she is excited nonetheless! :)

Also, I'm going to the same Dr. who delivered Kamryn, so they have my charts and records from her pregnancy as well. Because of this, my doctor looked at how much I weighed at the beginning of last pregnancy, and the beginning of this pregnancy, and IT IS THE SAME!! He was complimenting me the whole time on it! (which made me feel good!) He said that the average weight gain between each pregnancy is 8lbs. for most women. So, I was excited to hear where I was! :)

But I honestly have to give credit toward some of my mom's genes being inside me. I'm probably the worst at keeping track of what I eat AND consistently exercising! But, sure enough, I'm back down to my pre-baby weight and starting all over again! :)

BUT he also said that the 2nd pregnancy is always harder and worse than the first (yay) and that 95% of women have a difficult time getting their weight back down after their second pregnancy. So, he sorta "challenged" me to be in that top 5% after this pregnancy! We'll see if I can do it...but knowing those stats kinda gives me a little more motivation! :)

Update to Kamryn's post yesterday

After I posted last night I forgot one of the cutest things Kamryn has learned this week so I have to add to it.

*Kamryn, this week you've learned more about praying. After watching many and many prayers with just mommy and daddy or with other extended family members, I can now say "Let's Pray" and you will stop what you are doing and clasp your hands together and wait for us to start. It is the cutest thing.
(now our goal is to help you keep that position DURING the prayer!)

Our Busy little Monkey

I've been wanting to do a whole post on everything Kamryn can do now, at 14 months old, but it hasn't happened yet. However, I was looking through pictures while scrapbooking yesterday and then today I was looking at old posts today and it was enough motivation to finally do it! (Not to mention that today last year I posted about family pictures...what is up with Sept 16th?! A sentimental-thinking day for me I guess!) :)

Kamryn,
you are the busiest little body but you amaze me with the things you can do every day and the new things you learn every day. here are some examples of the many things you can do:

*you are so smart! sometimes it's too smart for your own good, however! for example: you used to be the easiest child to put to bed, but now you are smart enough to know that there might be a chance of prolonging bedtime if you cry a little. But, mommy and daddy also know that you always quiet down after about 10 seconds of us closing the door!

*you still love to eat. you are getting better at feeding yourself almost anything we put in front of you. (we have to have bathtime after every meal though because everything still ends up in your hair when you put your hands on your head all of the time!)

*you love to go out to eat with mommy and daddy (wonder where she got that from! :) ha!) and are very well behaved in public.

*you are getting better at playing on your own. after whining a little bit, if mommy and daddy still ignore you, you'll go play with yourself.

*you LOVE other little kids. we get together often with friends who live close by.

*you are friendly. we walk down the aisle of any store and you are waving to anyone you can see. male and female. old and young. and this week your wave has been evolving from that cute circular/princess wave, into an up and down with the wrist wave!

*your hair is growing!! slowly..but surely!

*you have a few favorite blankies now...3 to be exact...and you carry them everywhere! even at the mall today you wanted to drag it around. (luckily you aren't too hard to distract from that idea!)

*one of your favorite toys is our pen/pencil organizer on the desk. you will sit on our kitchen floor for an hour or so just playing with them! (and notice you still love to be naked. if I approach you with a diaper or clothing, you run away!)

*you don't climb on things very much yet, because you have a cautious personality. you are hesitant when something is wobbly. but this apple beer box was sturdy enough I guess!

*and you LOVE the banana chairs at grandma and grandpa's house. you didn't really care for grandpa trying to share it with you this time, however! you didn't cry...but you kept kicking him. silly girl.

*one thing you love to get into when mommy has her back turned is the dishwasher. only once has she actually had time to climb on it, but it was too cute that I had to get a picture.

*you love to go outside! even just on our 3rd floor balcony is fine. just as long as we're outside!

*if I say the word "go" you head straight to the door. unfortunately, "go" doesn't always mean going outside. it could be "go put your shoes on" or "go get dressed" or "go to bed"... mommy has had to be careful about how she says things lately because you pick up on it all so quick!

*your favorite food is bananas right now. you will easily eat 2 a day! (which is hard for me to understand because I don't like bananas! lol)

*you LOVE to brush your teeth! I will ask you if you want to brush your teeth and you go straight to the bathroom saying "brus" or "tee".

*you love to read books. with mom. with dad. by yourself. you often have a book in hand.

*your vocabulary is increasing. some words you can say are:
"baooo" - balloon
"moo" - cow
"ish" - fish
"brus" - brush (for teeth or hair)
"tee" - teeth
"pes" - please (also signs with two hands up and down tummy)
"key" - blankie or binkie (same sound when you hand either to me)
"o" - more (with sign, but only uses two pointer fingers for the sign, not both hands!)
"ba" - ball
"boo" - book (just leaves the K sound off)
"mmmm" - anything that has to do with food!

*you love music. anytime you hear music you stop and are quiet. then you will sometimes "decide" to sing along!

*you still love bathtime! you don't ever want to get out, however. you like to stay in till your lips are purple and then you HATE drying off when it's time to get out. it's like you want to stay naked and cold! yikes!

*you make mommy and daddy giggle every day! I wish it was possible to remember every little thing you do, but there is a decent list right there, and I'm sure I'll have more in 5 minutes from now.

At Grandma's house

Kamryn and I decided to go on another spontaneous vacation last week...and we had to leave Daddy behind. But he survived and we had a great time! (although we missed him! 10 days is a long time to be away from him!)

We went up to Idaho to be with my Grandma for a week, while Papa and my dad went on a trip up to the Northwest Territories of Canada. It was so fun. We were spoiled rotten by good food and trips to the store and car rides around that gorgeous area they live in.

Kamryn got some new outfits--I went a little overboard, but I'm to the point where I'm finally out of baby shower gift clothing! (not bad...14 months without having to buy much of a wardrobe for her!) I found this cute cute jumpsuit-type outfit. Unfortunately, for her, it is white...but I LOVE white--so I splurged a little even though I know it probably won't last long! :) lol

I was also a bit spoiled while up there, because Grandma let me/helped me make this gorgeous quilt top! I love it! It is all Hawaiian prints and we did it all in like 3 days (only 3-4 hours each day too!) It really didn't take long and now I can't wait to get it machine quilted!

It was a wonderful week at Grandma's, but it is good to be home now too.

Today isn't a complete loss...

Because of my misfortune, however, some good things have happened! :)

*Ryan stayed home more of the morning to help me with things. (since I was crippled!) Changing diapers, feeding Kamryn, opening things for me, dressing Kamryn, etc. What a good hubby I have!

*We went to Mimi's cafe for breakfast because we had free meal coupons that expire tomorrow and we HAD to use them!

*And then we wandered around Barne's and Nobles just looking at stuff and letting Kamryn walk around. She's such a good girl. She touches things with one finger and then moves on! No picking things up and destroying them!

So...today hasn't been all bad! I'm just flabbergasted at what I could've possibly done to my hand! :)

3 "gifts" for 3 of us...

So today has been an interesting day.

All 3 of us got something today:

Kamryn got a new DVD "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh"
Ryan got a Wii Game "Wii Resort"
And I got a bruised and sore wrist while I was sleeping last night! :(

I woke up at 5am with a sore and bruised hand. I remember it hurting in my dream and then when I woke up, it was real! I don't know what happened though! It hurt so bad to move it. My thumb was unusable and I really couldn't do anything with that whole arm!

So, I've iced it all day, took pain meds, and used essential oils on it, and it seems to be a bit better...but it still aches and hurts. Weird! I just don't know what I could've done to it while I was sleeping that would hurt so bad AND I DIDN'T WAKE UP!!!

Anyway,
I'm glad Kamryn and Ryan recieved good gifts today. But I'll trade mine in for something else! :)
