Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to post really quick and say MERRY CHRISTMAS to all our friends and family! We love you and wish the best for you in the upcoming year! Let us remember Him who we celebrate on Christmas and take Him with us throughout the year.

We love you!

Love,
Katrina Ryan and Kamryn

Our Five Month Old Kamryn

Today Kamryn turned 5 months old. She can...
  • Babble about anything and everything
  • Sleep in the car
  • Hold her own bottle
  • eat baby cereal (getting better still every day)
  • Reach out for things
  • Grab onto things and sometimes put them in her mouth
  • Recognize what is food
  • Laugh when we tickle and play with her
  • Play Cards!
  • Sit up on her own (Newest development!) :)
  • Recognize Mommy and Daddy as people she knows
  • Watch everything around her.
  • Go to Disneyland!!!!!
  • Hold her head up when on her tummy and reach out to grab toys
  • Almost roll over from tummy to back and back to tummy
  • Suck and gnaw on her index finger and thumb! (a habit I don't want to continue!) :)
  • Smile at anyone who will give her attention! :)
We love our little girl! She is growing up so fast!
"Happy Birthday" little one!

Growing Up!

As you can see from my header, Kamryn is starting solid foods. She is still practicing with the cereal ... but as of 2 weeks ago, she is not nursing anymore. At first I was a little anxious about stopping nursing and just doing formula full time, but I got to the point that I just didn't have enough milk and was always giving her a bottle to finish off eating every time. AND I'm going back to school in January so we decided that it would be an opportune time to start her on solids. (AND she has NEVER had a hard time with a bottle! Thank goodness!)

Then when we got to California two weeks ago, Kamryn wouldn't nurse anymore. She decided she was done.

I thought it would be tough, but it's actually been really nice to not worry about it anymore. I'm glad I nursed for 4.5 months, but she is healthy and strong and happy...so life is good.

Our first adventure at home

Last night I was giving Kamryn a bath and I looked up and saw this on our bathroom ceiling

Ryan ran upstairs to the apartment above us and asked if they had anything in their bathroom that was leaking. Sure enough...there was a leak under their sink.

I called emergency maintenance and they went upstairs to fix the leak. And he told us to pop the "bubble" and drain it into a bowl, and then they'd fix the dry wall the next day.

Ryan got a little excited! :) A knife and a sticky rice pot! (Everyone needs a sticky rice pot) :)

Quite the exciting thing to find when you come home from a trip. We're just glad that it didn't happen WHILE we were gone!

Kamryn's First trip to DISNEYLAND!

I've been gone again for a while (once again!) but this time it wasn't my fault because we didn't have free internet access while in California! Ryan has been doing finals this week since we got home Sunday night, so this morning when Kamryn got up bright and early, I decided I'd catch up on my blog!

So, we went to Disneyland this past week and it was SO fun! Kamryn is young, yes, but she loved it! How could anyone not?! :)

Here are some highlights from the trip:

Driving to California proved to be a little more interesting this trip! Kamryn is older now and doesn't sleep as much...and now has to be entertained a little bit more! :)

Happy baby!

Spitting up!
Playing with a granola bar wrapper
Playing with her keys
I put her cow foot and wrist rattles on and she wanted that foot rattle SO bad! She kept lifting up her head to see if she could reach it! She never did--and finally got frustrated so I had to cover it up and find a new toy! :) I thought it was so funny though! :)

Classic picture in front of the castle.

It's Christmas time! There is a BIG tree in Disneyland,

And a BIG tree in California Adventure.

Kamryn's favorite rides were:
Winnie the Pooh (lots of bright colors and nothing dark/scary!) :)
and It's a Small World.
At Christmastime, Disneyland dresses up this ride for the holidays. Kamryn loved the bright colors and lights and movement and singing! We went on it multiple times, not just for her but because it is pretty neat what they do with it all to dress it up for Christmas.

Waiting in line for Small World!

And here's the baby inside the ride: just mesmerized! :)

I was impressed with Ryan that he got such a good picture! :)

One of Daddy's favorite rides, and Grandma's too, is Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. We rode this TONS but it was good because Kamryn could go on it (no height restriction) AND she liked it enough because there are lots of neon colored lights in there to look at.

Jungle Cruise we knew she would like because she is always watching trees. She liked it enough to ride it once, but it wasn't a favorite this time.

One of the first rides we went on was Teacups from Alice in Wonderland because it had a short line when we passed by. Kamryn was so funny. She loved watching the middle wheel.

We couldn't distract her no matter what we did! That wheel was just TOO interesting! :)

No mom! I don't want to look at the camera! :)

A favorite ride of hers was the Carousel.
Not because of the horses, however, but because of the gold bar she could reach out and touch! :)
oooooooooooooooooo!!! :)

And the classic and favorite Fantasyland ride is Peter Pan. So we stood in line and rode it! Kamryn didn't get much out of it, but Ryan thought it was cool! :)

Sleeping baby---
Wait! Wake up! It's time for the Christmas Parade!
Dancing snowflakes--
Dancing princesses!
Ok! I'm awake! :)

Riding the train
One night Kamryn was way tired and fussy--we met a little girl and her family on the Tram to the parking lot. They were instantly friends! Kamryn was fascinated with her!

The newest ride is a Toy Story Arcade Game ride. It is 3D and very involved. But very fun! :) Kamryn wasn't so sure (at first) about the spinning and the puffs of air that come every once in a while, but she got used to it. Here we are, with our fashionable 3D glasses! :)
We also met some characters while we were down there this week:

Woody
Cinderella
and of course, Mickey Mouse! :)
Kamryn was definitely interested in Mickey's nose! :) He kept trying to play peek-a-boo with her. She didn't really react to it....too little still...but she wanted to reach out and grab him! :)

The last night, we went to dinner at Ihop. We were about done eating and then Kamryn decided SHE was hungry! :)

I don't know how much a stroller will fill her up! :) cute baby! She gnawed on that thing for a good 5 minutes! Maybe we'll see teeth soon! :)

On the drive home...we had quite the adventure. We didn't plan for the canyon before St. George---and about 5 miles before we got to St. George, we ran out of gas! Luckily my in-laws have AAA membership and an hour later we were back on the road!

Then later on in the trip--Kamryn lost everything in her tummy and in her bladder all at once and everywhere in the car.

What a "wonderful" end to a truly fantastic trip! :)

I'm back!!

Blogging world--here I come! :)

Life has been absolutely CRAZY this week. It took me most of the week to catch up on our Hawaii trip. This was partly because Ryan has needed the computer almost 24/7 this week to finish up school so that we can go on another vacation tomorrow! :) And I'm happy to report that his hard work this week has paid off---he's DONE!! :) Yahoo! :)

We are on our way to So. California tomorrow morning with Ryan's parents. Ryan's dad has a conference this week down in Anaheim, so Ryan's mom, Ryan, Kamryn and I decided we needed to go "keep him company" and then hit the Happiest Place on Earth a few times while we are there! :)

Hopefully I won't get behind this time! :)
