2010 Goals

I'm behind on blogging...again! *(what else is new?!!)*

HOWEVER, I decided this post is needed NOW and I can catch up on other things later. (hopefully soon though!) :)

A few things I want to do better in 2010:

1. Pray Daily (yes, Ang, I'm with you there...it's easy to get out of habit sometimes)

2. Study the Scriptures Daily! I was good at this before I got married and had a kid...now I'm very inconsistent and want to be better!

3. Drink more water! My goal is 3 bottles a day (which ends up being 72 ounces). Sounds doable for me. This is partly because I've been feeling more dehydrated with this pregnancy, and partly because I know it is good for me and it would be a great habit to form NOW! :)

4. Stay on a schedule. With a new baby coming and Kamryn getting older, I've realized that I really need to be better at having a schedule and not letting important things slide. So, Kamryn is getting her first "chore chart" this year, and Ryan and I have daily checklists of things we often forget or put to the side that we are accountable for.

5. Be more positive when life is giving me "lemons". I've found that I (especially with pregnancy) find myself using the word "hate" a lot. I don't really mean to...it's just when I'm venting. But I want to delete this word from my vocabulary. Instead, if something is frustrating, I will strive to find something positive with the situation.

6. Write a missionary or a family member I don't see/talk to often every Sunday.

I'm really hoping and praying to get into a habit with all of these things! They will not only improve my life, but make our whole family happier and easier I think! Especially with a new baby coming this year!

Today is December 30th which means it is my
Brother Eric's 20th Birthday!

He is celebrating it in Brazil today!
(Ok...so I'm not sure how much celebrating he is actually doing whilst being a missionary, but I hope he is having a Wonderful Day!) :)

13. What trait do you hate about yourself? I'm not sure. I have a really hard time cooking AND don't like to do it... but I don't know if I wish it was different! :) I don't like that I am bad at making decisions...does that work?

38. Do you have any pets? nope :( After grad school I'm sure we'll get a cat or a dog or both! :)
39. Does someone have a crush on you? kinda a weird question for married people, don't ya think?! But yes...Ryan does! :)

Talking to Eric Christmas Day!

My brother, Eric, is serving a mission in Salvador, Brazil right now. His year mark is in January! Hard to believe it has already been a year since he left!

We all got to talk to him while we were in California. It was fun to hear his voice. He is just as excited and enthusiastic about EVERYTHING as ever.

On Mother's Day, we could barely hear him as we talked to him. We had to strain through the mumbling! So, Dad decided to try to call through Skype this time. It worked MUCH better! We could hear him perfectly through the speakers and he could hear us for the most part. The Microphone we had was a little "iffy" at times, so Dad may look into getting a better one for this upcoming May.
Eric got a little emotional at times, when hearing how much older Austin and Ryan sound, and when he found out that Kelsey wasn't here to talk to him once again. (She had to work on Mother's Day and then she was spending Christmas with Zac's family this year). However, we figured out a way for him to talk to her! He was so excited! We called Kelsey on Ryan's work phone, and turned on the speaker phone. We held the microphone to that phone for her to talk, and then she heard him through the speaker! It was very cool.

Then, because that worked, we thought maybe we could get Grandma and Papa Moe on the phone in the same way. Here's a shot of the set up! :)

I had to capture the moment ... it is amazing how much technology we have at our disposal to communicate with people anywhere in the world!

Who knew the Disney Store could be so fun!!

So, Ryan and I took Kamryn with us to Anaheim today to visit Downtown Disney. I was feeling a little blue because I have never been around the Disneyland parks without actually going in!! (However, when we pulled up to Downtown Disney (the shopping center outside of the parks) I saw all the people going INTO the parks and I was happy to not deal with all those crowds!) :)

However, our adventure inside the Disney Store with Kamryn was worth every little bit! (I'm only sorry I don't have pictures of her!)
