Parties Parties and more Parties!

I've been kinda waiting to do this post because I know it will take a while and it's always harder to post something long while Kamryn pulls me away from the computer every 2 seconds! BUT, it is now naptime and I have time to do it! yay!

Well, in the event of Kamryn turning 1, she had FOUR birthday parties this year! Party #1 was on the 4th of July and I already blogged about that here, but the other 3 I wanted to also give the same glamour, because they were all very fun! :)

Birthday Party #2: Great Grandparents in Northern Idaho.

July 15-20th, Kamryn and I went up to Northern Idaho to visit my dad's parents. We went with my mom and 4 of my siblings. It was very fun to see them again. We went up last summer when Kamryn was brand new, so that they could meet her, but they haven't seen her since. And since she changed completely in just a year, we decided to go again. While we were there, Grandma made her a cake and we had a little bday party for her. She loved it! :)

We had a combined bday party for Kamryn and Uncle Ryan, since their bdays are only 4 days apart! (Happy Bday Ryan, today!! He's on a scout 50 mile hike this week so I can't call him but there, I wished him happy birthday!!) :)

Kamryn loves the attention she gets every time we sing happy birthday to her. But she was unsure about what to do with this cake in front of her. So we had Ryan show her with his. Then she dove in! :)

Yummy Yummy! We just don't like getting cleaned up!

This isn't a great picture of Kamryn with her great-grandparents, but it's all I have right now. (Maybe my mom has a better one!) Kamryn with the baby-doll accessory pack they gave her for her bday.

We opened it up and Kamryn started thinking some of the stuff was for her!

That's not your binky, sweetheart!

Not your bottle either!! :)

We had a great few days with Grandma and Papa. I'll post more about the trip and our adventures up there another time!

Birthday Party #3: My immediate family and Ryan's immediate family

When I was growing up, my mom always made cute cakes for us on our bdays. I had a little mermaid one, a barbie doll, a winnie the pooh shaped, a dog shaped, etc. I wanted to do the same thing for Kamryn (and I have had no cake decorating experience in my life!!) Here's what the end result was for her Balloon Birthday Party:

I was pretty impressed with myself!! :)

Ryan's Aunt Laurie bought Kamryn the hairbow she is wearing. It is a magenta-ish pink with brown leopard print! It is the cutest thing ever, but I have had a hard time finding something for Kamryn to wear it with! I finally just invested in some white tops for her and it worked out pretty well! Thanks Laurie! :)

Because it was a balloon party, I bought a bunch of helium balloons and then a bunch of regular balloons that we blew up. Kamryn was pointing left and right saying "Boo, boo" (meaning balloon). It was so fun to watch her enjoy everything around her!

Singing happy Birthday! So much attention...probably 20+ people there and everyone has their eye on her! :) (sorry the video is sideways...I just love her face though!!) :)

Loving her cake!

Even with a bib on, she had cake down her pants and her diaper and caked all over her arms and legs. I was just going to rinse her off but she ended up taking a bath.... in the sink!! :)

Funny baby! It's the perfect size for her though! :) She loved it!!

When it was time to get out, she didn't want to get out. I'd put out my hands for her to come to me and she'd put her head down in the sink! It was so funny! She loves bathtime at home, but she's never refused to come out! Silly girl! I guess this was just the most fun bath she's ever had! :)

Kamryn and Aunt Kylie! (I had to put this picture in because the next day Kylie left for BYU Hawaii. Good luck, Ky!)

After getting out of the bath and drying off, it's time to open presents! Kamryn was spoiled rotten---but I wasn't surprised at all! :) She loved everything she got! She had to be convinced to open the next present! :)

Kamryn and Daddy, digging out presents from Grandma Seamons.

This bunny rabbit was from Aunt Krista. Kamryn is so funny, when she opens something she shares it. What a good girl!

Kamryn and all her presents: 3 puzzles, 5 books, 1 DVD, 1 stuffed animal, 1 shape sorter and 2 outfits!! Wow!

Birthday Party #4: The Littlest Friend Birthday Party Ever!

On Kamryn's actual birthday, I decided to invite some of our friends who have kids Kamryn's age, to come to our house for a small party. I blew up some more balloons, made another cake, brought the helium balloons from the night before to our apartment and it worked out pretty well.

Kamryn, playing with balloons, waiting for her friends to arrive. (Wearing the outfit Aunt Kelsey got her for her birthday the night before!)

The Four Friends! :) I love this!

Davin 13 mos, Kamryn 12 mos, Samantha 9 mos, and Cassie 18 mos.

I made another cake for this party and cupcakes (easier for little kids to eat)! Not as fancy because I didn't have time or energy! I was about all partied out!

Kamryn, enjoying her cupcake!

Kamryn opening some presents from her friends. The little kids were actually really good about just playing and watching Kamryn open her gifts. It was cute to see them all interact.

Ryan and I decided to get Kamryn one bigger gift for her bday because we knew she'd get a bunch of other things from other family and friends. BUT Because Kamryn's bday is on Pioneer Day (a Utah Holiday) we weren't sure if it would be delivered in time! But that morning, it showed up on our doorstep! Yay! :)

Ryan put it together before the party. I almost forgot about it but then remembered at the very end of all the gifts. I brought it out and all 4 kids were so excited! They all dashed toward it and it worked out nicely because there was room for all 4 of them to play with it! :)

Bringing out the kitchen/living room play center!

Everyone enjoying it! :)

Kamryn loves it!

Then we all went swimming for the end of the party. (Samantha had to go home and take a nap though...we were sad to see her go, but I totally understand! Kamryn kinda needed a nap at that point too, but it was HER party!)! :)

(This isn't the greatest picture...but I'm glad we took it. I don't think we have a picture of all of us with our kids!) :)

Kamryn with her presents from her friend party:
Kitchen/LR playset, book, shape-sorter-barn and a package of farm animals! Thank you for such nice gifts! She loves them!

Happy Birthday Kamryn! You are a loved little girl! :)

Kamryn-our 1 year old!

Yesterday Kamryn turned one year old! I cannot believe how fast it has gone!
We had 4 parties for her this year...I'll have to post about them soon. But I just wanted to do an overall 1-year post!

Kamryn, here are some things you can do now that you are one:

-You can crawl fast enough to trip over your own hands
-You love to feed yourself finger foods
-You Still LOVE to eat!!! (and eat ANYTHING that is offered to you)
-You Love to read and play with your toys
-You love to do puzzles. you're getting better each day at putting the pieces in their correct spot.
-You love to play with other kids--older and younger! Any other kid around, you're ready to play with them!
-You love balloons! We had balloon bday parties because you love them. I think "Balloon" may be your first word.
-You love to play with daddy! Tickling and rolling around on the bed!
-You love to swim.
-You love to brush your 2 teeth.
-You aren't easily frustrated when something doesn't work right.
-You ARE impatient when it comes to food!
-You make LOUD sounds all of the time---no English words quite yet! (We're working on mama and dada still!)
-You can play pretend on your own. You love to play with dishes and silverware--feeding yourself, baby-dolls, and others.
-You enjoy getting into kitchen cupboards, bathroom cupboards and drawers, and the toilet!
-You have the cutest laugh (when it is real and fake) that just makes my heart lift when I hear it!
-You are friendly! You'll wave to perfect strangers as you pass them in the store or outside.
-You love music. You can get grumpy during church, but as soon as music starts playing and we sing hymns, you are alert and quiet.
-You can sing with the radio in the car!
-You are an excellent traveler.
-You are easy-going when change happens. (food, carseat, etc.)
-Your wave is a princess wave...very elegant and circular.
-You've learned to play peek-a-boo on your own. (you cover your face and then uncover it on your own)

Here are some things you have done in your first year:

-Flown on an airplane to Hawaii and Ohio.
-Been to Disneyland 4 times

Blogger's dream come true!

Do you ever wish your internet could be THAT much faster?!! So that uploading pictures and especially videos onto your blog could be THAT much easier?!?!

Well, it has happened for me! And It is WONDERFUL!! It takes like 5 seconds to upload 5 pictures...not 5 minutes anymore!! I used to sit and write the whole post while the pictures were uploading and I would beat the pictures. Now I can't type more than 2 words before the pictures are uploaded! :)

Our complex has spent the past 3 months wiring for a new internet company in all the buildings and we just got hooked up to it this last week. It is SO SO SO fast to post now! :) I'm SO SO SO excited!! (Maybe this will mean that I'll post more often!!?!? :) haha...don't hold your breath!) :)

Home Sweet home

So, a while back (like beginning of May!) we moved to a bigger apartment and I started trying to "decorate" a bit to make it feel more like a home than a student apartment! I never posted again about it, however, because it is an ongoing process. But I got a bunch done last week and I'm excited about it so I thought I'd post about it!

My Living Room:
Colors: Cobalt Blue, Burgundy, Cream, Mahogany Brown
Found the pillows at Walmart. Loved them! :)
Middle frame is a mirror (you can see the pictures on the other side of the room in it though)
Kamryn gets framed twice because she is the only one (and I'm working on doing nice family pictures in the next couple of weeks) :)

Kamryn's Bathroom:
Colors: Bright Pink, Yellow and Orange; Beach Theme
Found the beach theme at Target! Love it!
Found frames at Ikea for cheap. Printed pictures at Costco.

My Disney Kitchen!
Disneyland kitchen...multiple characters and colors.
Frames have Disney scrapbooked pages in them. All Black frames.
Still looking for fabric to make curtains and tablecloth because right now the room is bare! But I was happy to finally find 12x 12 frames for some of the pages I had made!

(ignore the messy table!) :) haha

And my VERY FAVORITE and what I have been searching and searching for! (the perfect theme for my bedroom...)

Theme: Hawaii Beach
I found the bedding for our new large bed online at Domestications.com. It was on sale too so I HAD to get it! (Then I splurged for wall art and curtains!!) :) haha

I LOVE it though! It makes my heart and spirit just lift every time I walk into the room! I need to get an actual curtain rod still and I think we're going to paint one wall just to make it feel that much more "exotic" :) But for now, I have a great reason to make my bed every day! :)

Pictures I am missing: My bathroom and Kamryn's room.
My bathroom is still in the making. Nothing to show yet.

Kamryn's room, however, I am surprised I dont have a picture yet because it has been done the longest! In fact, I thought I had posted about it already. But it is also Hibiscus flowers and bright colors (like her bathroom). Bright green, yellow, blue, and pink. And I found a border that I put up around the ceiling. It is very cute! :) I need to take a picture ASAP!

It has been so fun decorating and creating rooms. Now the challenge is keeping them clean and adding little bits here and there that I find as time goes on! :)

Kamryn's First 1st Birthday party!

This little girl is spoiled! (and very loved!) I think she is going to have 3 1st Birthday parties this year! What a life! :)

For the 4th, we got together with extended family for a BBQ and swimming and movies and just visiting, AND to celebrate all of the summer bdays within the family. Kamryn is the youngest this summer, so everyone sang to her first! She wasn't quite sure what was going on, but liked all the attention.

And then she got to open 6 presents! She was so excited about each of them too, so thank you everyone who gave her something! :)

Bubbles and a Water toy from Aunt Donelle.

Card from Great Grandma (G.G.)

Box of Board Books from Aunt Janice! (Kamryn LOVES these!!)

What is this next one, Kamryn?

Look Kamryn, it's a baby doll!

And some PJ's! (She didn't care too much about these...what 1-year-old would! These were definitely more for Mommy!!) :)

I don't want to put the baby down, but what's this next big one?!

It's a stroller for your baby!

Let's let Daddy put it together for you!! :)

Enjoying Ice Cream while Daddy puts together her stroller! :)

Look at me! I'm a big girl!

I can walk and push the stroller! (Since she's still just a little unsure of walking without holding onto something! This is wonderful for her right now!)

All cleaned up from swimming--wearing my new PJ's. My pants are a little too long though :(

Aunt Kelsey to the rescue! (Kamryn doesn't think to stop at all for Kelsey to fix them though!) :)

Thanks Kelsey! That's much better!

Kamryn...enjoying bubbles (from Aunt Bev) for the first time! She was so funny--belly laughing everytime she popped a bubble! :)

When it got dark, we all went outside to watch fireworks. Kamryn liked them at first...but then was just too exhausted! Sweet baby!

My sisters and cousin, watching fireworks (and being strange...like usual! :) haha)

Sorry it's blurry...but mommy and daddy watching fireworks!

Happy 1st 4th of July, Kamryn! We love you, sleepy girl!
