Sunday--
We went out to Pearl Harbor. It was just as I remembered, except I think EVERYONE decided that Sunday was a good day to go--it was pretty crowded and we had to wait quite a while to go out to the memorial. Kamryn was a little fussy at first, but was able to calm down and go to sleep for some of the waiting time. We took a pretty good family picture out there too: too bad she was asleep.

While waiting we also did some crazy stuff. My brother Ryan was playing with Kamryn--look at my "cool" baby! :)

Finally we got into the 5 minute video presentation and on the ferry to go over to the memorial.

It was a really cool experience to be there with Grandma and Papa because Papa served in the war.

After Pearl Harbor, we went to the Punchbowl national cemetery.

We've found recently that Kamryn LOVES just watching Ryan when he is talking to someone. She often just watches him with lots of intent, like she wants to understand what he is saying.
Monday morning! We began our day at 6 am and didn't get out of the house till close to 8... but we made our way over to Diamond Head, in order to hike to the point. BUT when we got there, the parking lot was full and there wasn't anywhere to park...so we just decided to skip it.
We went to Snorkel Bob's (a shop in Waikiki) and rented snorkel equipment. I'm sure we were the largest group they've had! :) Here we all are, lined up and trying on snorkel gear and flippers! :) Kinda a funny sight! :)
We drove in the vans for quite a while every day--So I had to take some pictures of my baby! :) She was so funny in the car--especially this day. She fell asleep while looking out the window.
Then the binkie fell out! :)
Poor tired little girl! Notice how she also was holding onto the seatbelt--she learned to reach out and grab things on this vacation! :)
After getting snorkel gear, we had to go USE it! Mom and Dad took us to a smaller beach that they had been to before and LOVED, but it was so windy when we were there that it was just too cold and too dirty. Ryan still jumped in with his snorkel gear though.
Then he decided it would be funny to try to give me a hug!
Finally I consented to get a little closer, but he was FREEZING!!! No touchy! :)
Everyone else also tried out their snorkel equipment. But because it was so windy--there wasn't much to be seen.
The boys gave up on snorkeling and decided to build instead!
They even found a crab for a body guard! :)
Tuesday Mom, Dad, Grandma and Papa went out to Kaua'i for a day (Back to Dad's birthplace--haven't been since that time). The rest of us stayed home at the resort. Then the girls (besides me and Kamryn) decided to go shopping and out to Waikiki and to go see Twilight and were gone all day long! So Tuesday was just Kamryn Ryan and I, the boys in my family and Uncle Jerry. So...not many pictures from today -- sorry! :) BUT Here's a couple that I just HAD to post! (Ryan will thank me later!)
We were eating Homemade enchiladas and Ryan had a little trouble with his plastic fork.

This was also Kamryn's first time in a high chair. Unfortunately this highchair was missing its seatbelt so...we had to tie her in with a blanket. (And then stuff blankets in behind her so that she would fit in the wide seat!)
Wednesday Morning, my brother Eric took out his endowment at the Laie, Hawaii temple. Ryan and I, Mom and Dad, Donelle and Jerry, and Grandma and Papa all got to be there with him. It was a beautiful and wonderful experience! We're all so proud of him and so excited for him to go on a mission. When asked at the end of the week what Eric's favorite part in Hawaii was, he said "Going to the temple"! He'll be a great missionary. He is so excited to serve the Lord in Brazil for the next two years.

The temple worker who was helping us take our pictures had a basket of plumerias for the girls. Everyone got one--even Kamryn. Unfortunately, Kamryn didn't like it very much! No patience with that girl! :)

After the temple session, we changed our clothes and drove down the street to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). I've been there before, but it was fun to go again and see my family enjoy it as well.

Tahiti and Samoa are definitely the favorite shows in the islands. This is tahiti! It would be so cool to be able to move your hips that fast, don't you think?!
While we were watching the canoe parade, Ryan noticed the "driver" for the Fiji canoe--it was one of his mission buddies in his MTC (Missionary Training Center) groups. We asked around and tracked him down later when we went on the canoe tour of the islands.
Ryan's friend, Joe, is from Samoa but his family lives in Hawaii and he's been working at the PCC for a long time now. (Worked there before his mission and after now). It was cool to find out that he is married to a girl from New Zealand and they are expecting a baby girl at the beginning of next year! It was fun to meet him.
After we talked for a few minutes, he took us on our canoe tour.
Kamryn was sleeping but then woke up while we were on the boat. What is all that water?!
While at the PCC, we got tatoos from some of the islands.

Thursday--Thanksgiving!

Mom wanted to do a family picture while we were out in the beautiful scenery in Hawaii, so she made us all shirts and Kamryn a dress to wear.

But wait...Kamryn didn't get to have Thanksgiving... :) Grandad will feed her some from his finger and let her suck it off. (I believe she tasted jello, whipped cream, gravy, sweet potatoes, chocolate and pumpkin. We ruined her ever eating and liking baby food!) :)

Mom brought some Thanksgiving crafts to do today. These are place tags that had a boy pilgrim, girl pilgrim, or a turkey on them. Austin enjoyed making a lot of them.

That afternoon we went swimming and wave-jumping at a beach we found on the northwest corner of the island. It was small but very fun.

Luckily there were showers at the beach, so I took her and held her in the cold shower (instead of the ocean...hmm...still cold, mom! ) and we cleaned her up.
After being at the beach all day and being COVERED in sand from head to toe, we decided to go "rinse off" in the hot tub. Kamryn was already all cleaned up, so she just came with us and sat on the side of the hot tub. What a good little baby! (Probably a smart baby too--who would want to get all wet and yucky AGAIN!!) :)
Friday-- Some of us went out to another beach that morning to watch some surfers and to see if we could body surf and wave jump again. Some of the surfers were actually really good and it was fun to watch. Unfortunately, no waves small enough for us to safely play in.
Kamryn also tried to eat baby cereal for the first time today. She did pretty good overall. But we're still going to be having a few more "practice sessions" to get one bite to all stay in there! :) She liked it alright though--so we didn't TOTALLY ruin her! :)
Ryan and I went with Donelle, Kylie and Brittany to the international marketplace. It was very very fun---but it's a good thing we don't live nearby!! Look at everything we "splurged" on! :)
Orange dress for Kamryn (Present from great Aunt Donelle), Hawaii jacket, two hair plumerias and a bracelet and earings, Dress with hibiscus flowers on it, Ryan's t-shirt, Ryan got a shot glass, I got some lotion, we bought a couple of Christmas gifts, etc... But I can say that it was all a good deal because I have a hubby who loves to barter! (Thanks to serving a mission in Thailand!) :)

And then Saturday morning came...and it was time to go home. Our island adventure was over. I think the island was sad to see us go too because it started raining again when we were in the airport. Raining when we arrived and raining when we left.
